We LOVE Alive Music Festival! So many pastors came out to hang, connect, eat, serve, pray, and have fun together. It was just awesome to meet pastors from all over the country and hear their stories, laugh together, eat some great food, and encourage one another this week! PnP was absolutely locked in last night! So grateful for those of you that take time out of your week to spend with us!

Destiny cooked up a fire devotional over 2 Corinthians 12:9–10 about how rewarding it can be to step into the uncomfortable and trust the Lord in those situations! Our challenge to you is to do something uncomfortable this week!

A reminder that next week there will be no Paddles n’ Praise due to Thursday church at Five39!

I know how it felt sitting out the last few months. Getting new paddles and eager to try them out, trying to stay in shape to run the courts, and forgetting that PnP isn’t happening weekly for a while.. BUT

PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER! Our first PnP meeting of the season is tonight at 6:30pm at Davenport Park (2756 Mogadore Road, Akron, OH 44312)!

Tell everyone you know about tonight! Bring friends and family members! Let’s spend tonight in fellowship and talk about the Lord!🏓

Looking back at a trip that we went on with @maranathabiblechurch and @five39church last year - we worked with our partner Pavel Tian to organize a couple camps working with Ukrainian refugees. There are over 1 million refugees in Germany from Ukraine. Many of them have lost loved ones in the War, are struggling financially after leaving everything behind.

We worked with teens and young adults at the volleyball camp. A professional volleyball player/ coach was brought in to teach the players. We would share a challenge and testimonies twice a day each day with the players.

At the same time we had a youth multi-sports camp going on, on the outside of they gym with many different sports for the youth to enjoy. Our team was divided into pairs of twos and each took a group of 10 - 12 youth teams. We then had two huddles in between sporting events where we shared with them challenges from God's Word and pointed them to the good news of Christ.

We had the rare opportunity to get into a German school where we were able to share challenges and testimonies.

Our team took time each morning with almost all of them giving a devotional and challenge to start the day. They all had many opportunities to share the Gospel and connect and encourage our brothers and sisters there.

Hey friends! Oh, how we have missed you! Five39 Interest groups have officially launched and this means that Paddles n’ Praise is back in action and we are calling on YOU!🫵🏽

We are going to be playing every Thursday @ 6:30pm at Davenport Park starting June 4th! Be sure to checkout all of our additional dates in the next few slides.

We are so excited to watch the Lord move through this pickleball ministry and we cannot wait to see you all June 4th!

tldr; listen to @five39church’s message from today

God has been working and moving lately, especially in the uniqueness of how He reveals Himself to me in ways that are exactly how He knows I need to hear Him. I am trying not over-spiritualize all of this, but the way that this whole thing has been happening in a time where I have hit a new low with my health, purpose, and calling is nothing but God. there are SO many things I’d love to share with you all, but just know that every conversation, message, prayer, criticism, encouragement is why we’re here, and what needed to happen to be here. I truly pray that this is not a reflection of me, but of the glory of God working through this place.

Whether that be very obviously because someone is hosting a Tuesday night Bible study, or subtly in the way that connections are made through YOU guys, through doing life together, through loving people well. That is what this is all about.. and why despite my fear, I cannot walk away from something with a potential that this has. I was a little wrecked from Pastor Mike’s message this morning, but man... isn’t crazy when we hear EXACTLY what we need to hear EXACTLY when we need to hear it?

And then to sing a song that I can recall singing the last “normal” Sunday of church I had over 4 years ago... thinking that because of the choice I was making to leave something that I loved, “My Father’s house” would no longer “have a place for me.” Until today, hearing those words, crying those words out to God, a weight was lifted. And the store’s exciting, and cool, and whatever else, sure. But THAT, that feeling when a weight is lifted and you’re just in the presence of a God that loves you more than anything else? That’s the “dream”, the vision, the purpose, the intent behind Willow & Wand. I hope that this becomes a safe place for people of all ages, beliefs, walks of life, and more. I am just thankful God put it on my heart because... there’s definitely people more “salty” than me to show people Jesus’s love, but hey.. here we are. I cannot wait to see you guys this Fall.

Community collaboration is the first step to building a stronger, safer Akron, and the OneCity Circle Encounter is taking on that challenge head-on!

This brings together pastors from nine churches across the city, committed to spending the next eight months exploring numerous ways we can come together in unity under Christ.

We were honored to host them here at The Mission for the second round of their initiative and share more about how we can work in unison to transform lives!

✨ Today we hosted our second OneCity Circle Encounter. Pastors from nine churches across Greater Akron are committing to the next 8 months to break out of silos, build real relationships, and explore what it looks like for the big-C Church to move together as one for our community.

We were blessed to be joined by incredible ministries sharing their heart for the community. A huge thank you to these amazing individuals representing ministries making a real impact right here in Greater Akron: @havenofrest_ak, @try_akron, @authenticintimacy, @gracehouseakron, and @restore.addiction.recovery!

It’s moments like these connecting, learning, and growing together that show the power of connection. Excited for what’s ahead this year as we continue gathering and building stronger relationships across our city!

I grew up going to church and being young I feel I didn’t understand it to how I completely do now 10 years ago I was baptized ironically pastor Woodin baptized me back then and I’m now taller than him as I grew older fell into the worldly ways and felt “too far gone” throughout this year I’ve endured a lot of pain and trials but instead of my prior response to it being to feed into it I chose to learn from it and have strengthened my relationship with God better than ever before I was supposed to get baptized last week but got into an accident and weather was bad but this morning I was ushering and a childhood friend that I’d invite to the young adult events and send stuff to him on social media unexpectedly came to the 10:00 service I told him that I’m getting baptized at the next service to stay and he did we sat in the front and he asked me “how do you know when the right time to get baptized is?” And I explained once you’ve gotten saved and gave your life to Jesus you should get saved and he said “well I’m saved but I’ve fallen into some old ways” I told him there is no such thing as a perfect Christian we are all broken and later that service we got baptized together nothing happens by coincidence God is always working !❤️✝️🙌 “Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God. Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.”

This past Sunday, Gloria and I had the opportunity to share our gratitude with @five39church and Pastor Mike. Their support of us over this next year means so much to us.

For those who don’t know, Pastor Mike was my camp counselor in high school for one week. Through the providence of God, we reconnected four years ago, just before Pastor Mike and his wife Hope planted Five39. Since then, Pastor Mike has been pouring into me as a pastor and giving me the opportunity to learn from his journey as a planting Pastor.

We couldn’t be more grateful to have the support of such a missional, biblical, and passionate church behind us!

Five39 we’re praying for your new season on Dan street!
