Trees/Plant/People/Time invites visitors to recline and watch the tree canopy projection while listening to personal stories of planting trees. The installation celebrates trees as part of our stories, and us as part of theirs – through life cycles and seasons.
Installation includes:
• Ceiling projection: A one-hour video loop of a tree canopy in Central Park filmed over the course of a year.
• Soundscape: A one-hour audio composition featuring seasonal sounds and stories of people planting trees.
• Seed Paintings: Portraits of seeds and seed pods of the tree species described in the audio stories.
• Resting places: Logs salvaged from felled trees that were otherwise destined for fireplaces or disposal.
• Two logs with embedded video: Playing inside tree stumps are loops of different lengths.
• Materials: The fabric and padding used throughout the installation are repurposed.

Kick your St Paddy’s day celebrations off early in Los Angeles this year with Locked in the Attic and Five OHM’s production of pitch black comedy, Ballybunion Backs Bill! ☘️🎭

A small town in the south-west of Ireland receives international recognition after President Clinton plans a trip to their iconic golf course, just a few days after his infamous scandal. An opportunistic hotelier, Roger Hasett decides it’s in the town’s best interest to build a statue of the president to commemorate the occasion. The wealthy and powerful businessman also goes to sinister lengths to convince Monica Looney to change the name of her small business, Monica’s Shoe Repair, out of worry that it could upset the president when he drives through the town. The unhinged cobbler’s hatred for adulterers leads to a massive fall out that sparks outrage, vandalism, and violence. Meanwhile, Monica’s children have to break the news that they are both moving abroad, a decision difficult to justify in the height of the Celtic Tiger. Ballybunion Backs Bill is a fictional account of a true event that occurred in Co Kerry in September 1998.

Starring
Alice Kremelberg as Monica Looney
Damian O’Hare as Brad Armstrong
David Daniel Offner as Oisin Looney
Mies Van Rooijen as Siobhan Looney
Phil Burke as Roger Hassett
Pilot Paisley-Rose as Charlotte Roberts

Galaxy Barn 2024 – Neighborhood Sneak Peek
Known for its late-night ragers with stage diving and powerful guitar riffs, it also offers a cool retreat during the day. This air-conditioned stage is perfect for catching early sets in an indoor punk or honky-tonk roadhouse vibe. If you can’t get inside, you can watch the sets broadcast on screens outside while relaxing on straw bales or around campfires.

What’s New for 2024?

“The textures and patterns created by technology and nature overlap in the Galaxy Barn venue this year. From behind the stage, where a backdrop of lines and angles is carved into a smooth amorphous texture, the artists will be complemented by warm wood tones.

The play of light and shapes will accentuate the warm natural state of the inside of the venue. Stepping out along the main trail between the Orchard and the Galaxy where the mechanical cooling apparatus is placed, a shroud of interactive technology will entice the passerby to play and enjoy. Eyes and ears will be watching and projecting an altered view of the people, places, and things happening live all around them.

Turning the corner, a gigantic LED panel wall provided by Planar will share the Pickathon live feeds of what’s happening inside the Galaxy Barn as well as the Lucky Barn and an occasional abstract viewing experience to tie it all together. Case of Bass, Green Century Electronics Recycling, and Five Ohm join forces to bring this vision to reality. Wish us luck.” – Dave Muller, Sustainability Director

DESIGNERS: Ezra Cimino-Hurt (Case of Bass), Chris Regis (Green Century Recycling) and Luke Norby (Five OHM Productions)
