BALIKBAYAN

This collection of woven jacquard and printed fabrics for interiors capture the essence of my Filipino culture, with a particular focus on the textile traditions. Certain provinces in the Philippines are known for their wooden cut carving which has been reflected through the use of lino printing. The distinctive patterns have been translated into woven jacquard designs to create a coordinating series of fabrics that celebrate the craftsmanship of weaving that is deeply rooted in the Filipino culture.

Introducing my favourite outcome of my project Ephemeral.

Ephemeral is a seasonless, embroidered collection for the bespoke fashion market, that aims to capture and display moments in nature that might have been missed; to demonstrate the beauty and hope that can still be found even in the harshest of conditions or slightest of moments.

The collection adapts to our increasingly digital world and focusses on the upper body, aiming to change the mindset of consumers and how they approach investing in fashion pieces.

Embroidery techniques such as goldwork, stumpwork and digital embroidery have been generously and precisely combined, showcasing handcrafted embroidery as a gateway to longevity.

Get ready for 'a great feast of languages' - from 3-9 Feb we're proud to present World's Stage, a multilingual celebration of Birmingham, Brummies and their Shakespeare.

140 Brummies feature in seven films released over seven days, speaking many of the 93 languages represented in the Shakespeare Memorial Library collection, and created by 27:31 and Creative Multilingualism.

Fancy going to the "premiere" next Wednesday? You can join film-maker Daniel Tyler-McTighe and members of the 'World's Stage' community cast, at a special FREE online preview screening of all seven films, before they are released to the public over the following seven days!
