Down on her knees, microphone in hand, with the stage washed green.

During “Can't Take Me,” @fkarayne knelt at the front of the stage as her vocals met the instrumental. A blood-splattered dress and leather gloves carried the visual thread through a set moving between nu-metal and pop.

Thank you @modoliveofficial for having us out.

It’s important to me that the vocalists and bands I collaborate with on my songs are people i genuinely love. Music is supposed to be to fun and have meaning regardless of stream numbers and follower counts, in this industry you can tell who is authentic or not and these artists are that and so much more. Lmk who you want to see in the next SFINX song!

Music discovery is going back in the hands of people instead of algorithms. Here are 5 Canadian bands with new releases in the last couple of weeks. What are you listening to right now? 🎧

@slowdrainband strike again with an emo-infused post-hardcore single titled “Untitled.” Catch them live in Toronto on October 24th and Montreal October 25th.

@fkarayne has been on a tear releasing single after single since the release of her EP Sutures earlier this year. Ribbons leans into heavy-synths, ethereal vocals, and a slow tempo but is still heavy AF.

I’ll never stop singing the praise of @opalinskyband who have followed up their 2024 album Dream Shift with the EP “A Burden’s Purpose.” It’s a healthy dose of positivity wrapped up in a heavy, gritty wrapper of huge guitar riffs and the constant onslaught of two vocalists screaming in your face.

New music from @paleskysounds wasn’t on my bingo card this year, but sometimes the universe provides what you didn’t know you needed. This single sets the stage and leaves you wanting more (full album please). It’s a slow building, modern metalcore track that is drop tuned to drop Z basically.

@freeze_the_fall_band have been rapidly ascending, crushing stages across Canada and recently playing @louderthanlifefest. “Crescents and the Torch” produced by our issue 1 OG Jordan Chase (@oodelally_recordings), is an ethereal, slow building track, balancing reverb-heavy vocal harmonies with gritty bass lines.
