Life gets complicated sometimes.

Plans change. Bodies change. Seasons change.

But joy has a funny way of showing up anyway—in the laughter of your kids, a country road, music playing through a phone speaker, and dancing when no one's watching. Even if they were we wouldn't care.

Not every chapter is easy, but there's still beauty to be found in it.

I'm learning that joy isn't the absence of hard things. It's choosing to notice the good things that exist alongside them. 🤍

One year later, and I’m finally sharing the day we promised forever!!
A slow Paris morning that turned into the most magical, imperfect, perfect wedding!!

We started the morning with a walk to the local pâtisserie. Pastries, baguettes, water, and Freddy by my side. Slow, quiet, and everything I love.

My mom and sisters came over to help me get ready. Kayla did my face, I did my hair, and Valor provided the cuteness. Meanwhile, Freddy was out getting crêpes with his bestie. Sounds about right.

When he got back, re-twists of course!

Then I left for Hôtel Particulier with my sister Chenoa, dress in hand, catching an Uber through Paris. Why did this moment feel like a movie?!

On the way, we ran straight into a protest blocking the route… but it was for our people, so honestly, it felt right.

At the venue, I met our vendors, got dressed, and started photos. Freddy arrived 30 minutes later, and that’s when we realized two things…
• it was going to rain
• he forgot the rings
Not him catching an Uber BACK to the hotel while I was in the back room unbothered.
Did I know? Yes. But was the wedding going to start without us? No! So it’s chill.

He made it back, the drizzle softened, guests returned to their seats, and suddenly it was time.

I sat there, bouquet in hand, listening to our song start to play… and I’ll never forget that feeling. It was an excitement that I relive every time that song has played since.

Then it was time to meet my favorite person at the end of the aisle. Ah!!
We made our promises before God and the people we love most. Tell me not, the rain really set the vibe!

From that moment on, it was a celebration!!!

We dined.

We danced.

We dined again.

And danced again.

We ate croquembouche and cheers-ed to forever!
The best thing I’ve ever eaten btw!!

We ended the night as we started it.
Just the two of us, a little deeper in love.

Freddy Kane, I love you. I love our story. And I’d choose this day, rain, protests, forgotten rings and all.
every. single. time.
You truly are the best part of life!!
And this was by far, the best day of my life!!

Rest in peace to @therealyoungbleed . We met him one night after doing a performance back in like 06-07’ish . He was a artist for No Limit Records during their peak years in the 90’s & being from Louisiana and listening to a lot of his music back then this meant a lot to me to get to meet him
