Flock to Film Days! 🦉🎬🐦Films for bird lovers include: WATCHING PEOPLE WATCHING BIRDS gets its US Premiere at Film Days on 11/15 at 12:30 pm at @fenimoreartmuseum The documentary explores connections between the bird watching world and the environmental crises that surround us. Highlighted are people who inspire us with their love of birds and devotion to nature. Among them is author Jonathan Franzen, who says one reason wild birds are important is because “they represent our last, best connection to a natural world that is otherwise disappearing.” WHISPERS IN THE WOODS takes you on a breathtaking journey to explore the French wilderness with award-winning photographer and filmmaker Vincent Munier, his father, and his son as they seek out the near mystical capercaillie, the largest living species of grouse. WHISPERS IN THE WOODS will be shown on November 13 at 5:30 pm at the @baseballhall Grandstand Theater. WILD INSIDE tells the incredible story of Flaco, the Eurasian Eagle Owl who escaped the Central Park Zoo and finds the wild that was inside him all along. WILD INSIDE is our opening film, on November 11 at 5:30 pm at the @baseballhall Grandstand Theater. And, take part in a free bird walk led by the @delawareotsegoaudubonsociety on 11/15 at 9 am on the grounds of the @fenimoreartmuseum See link in profile for full Film Days schedule. Most films are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. The Hamptons International Film Festival has proudly bestowed close to five million dollars in its 34-year history. This year, HamptonsFilm continued to present emerging filmmakers with numerous awards, with special events taking place throughout the duration of the festival. “Congratulations to this year’s award winners, whose films stayed with our audiences long after the credits rolled,” said HamptonsFilm Chief Creative Officer David Nugent. “From LA BOLA NEGRA, our jury’s pick for Best Narrative Feature, to ELSINORE, which won over our audiences, this year’s honorees brought stories from around the world and right here on Long Island to the East End. Many of these films are heading into awards season with real momentum, and we’re proud the Hamptons is once again part of that journey. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who makes the festival possible, including our filmmakers, jurors, sponsors, board, staff, volunteers and, of course, our audiences.” Click the link in our bio to see the full list of #HIFF34 Award Winners ⭐️ Our competition films are sponsored by @lismoreroad 🎬

Great to be back in Hot Springs for opening night of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival! 🎬 I’ve served on the @hsdff board for several years, but this is only my second time here in person — and extra fun with @kuaf_radio as a media sponsor. The opening film, Wild Inside @flacodocumentary by filmmaker @pennyjupiter, was funny, moving and a really beautiful story about one famous owl and the humans who fell in love with him. 🦉❤️ Even better sharing the room with folks here for the first-ever Birding Festival of the South @birdingfestivalofthesouth. HSDFF runs through next weekend, so you’ve still got time. Grab a pass or tickets, come to Hot Springs, see some incredible films and get a little more enlightened along the way. 🎟️ at hsdff.org
