Kids learn by having fun. They also learn through consistency and understanding that they are trying to achieve certain objectives throughout. Believe it or not, kids (mostly) aren’t interested in fighting, it’s usually something parents want (to be able to defend themselves)
If you want kids to get good at something, give them a good experience that challenges them enough to want to come back. Over time they build physical reactions and skills unconsciously until they reach an age where the aspect of self defense and the reality of bullying/confrontation becomes something they understand and grasp with their minds and their bodies can react subconsciously…

“If you have a good experience in training, you will keep coming back..If you keep coming back you will get good at something… Consistency is key”

In martial arts, you use your whole body to coordinate movements. The Floor Is Lava assault course, is a very good way for kids to challenge their mind and bodies whilst having fun..

Not all training should be hard and difficult. Especially for kids. As someone who boxed competitively from the age of around 10 years old I can attest to burn out and lack of enthusiasm for something I once enjoyed. It’s one of the reasons we try to engage kids in fun activities whilst making the skill development a hidden aspect of their training

We all learn in different ways but think back to when you were a kid, you played and played until it became second nature right?

Never lose sight of the end goal of developing fitness and self defense skills but don’t forget to enjoy the journey too
