a short film on:

learning that self-acceptance doesn’t always mean forcing yourself to love every version of the process. sometimes it means listening to yourself, adjusting, and finding your way back to what feels true.

extra love to my stylist @breannanicola of @fleekedbybree_ for being patient enough to work through the emotions with me and helping me get to a version that finally felt like me.

and to @_dawnixx of @_thehairnutritionist, for constantly teaching us the power of actually knowing your scalp, understanding your hair health, and building a relationship with your hair instead of just reacting to it.

turns out the relationship I needed to work on was with my hair, too. 🥹

as a Strategic Consultant at @sincerelysolidstudio , there’s so much intricacy that goes into what i do, from countless emails, excel spreadsheets, merchandise planning, organizing creative briefs to outlining the number of shots & assets needed while taking many factors into account like mood board aesthetic, priority sponsored moments, financial budgets & designer feedback + so much more —

Yet, one of the MOST important parts for me is the people you include to catch the play w/, that’s what really establishes a truly successful initiative. I already know that when @khleo.a calls, it’s going to be an opportunity well WORTH it bc she has always put me in a position to WIN. we have a similar mindset when it comes to being good at what you do. & when you’re good at what you do, I’ll always send the play too, when bringing on @muujefe to collaborate on the project. Everyone gets to play their position 100p, while having a good time making it happen — simply because we individually & collectively love what we do!

nothing worth having comes easy but you CAN have it if you really WANT it ⭐️

Sincerely,
Shalese
