Plastic Family (VEGA, Copenhagen, 21st September 2026)

We arrived at VEGA for The Lemon Twigs gig oblivious as to the identity of the support artist. Turned out to be Plastic Family, from the Netherlands. As I understand it, they are a relatively new collective of experienced musicians. Whatever their provenance, they are clearly a gifted team and amazingly tight musically.

In keeping with the character of the headliner, Plastic Family also have an overtly “retro” sound. Their bandcamp page cites Wings and Supertramp, which wouldn’t have been the first acts that sprang to my mind, but there was definitely a late 60s/early 70s feel to their tracks.

As a bonus, there was an unexpected nod to Rutland’s finest The Rutles via a badge on the jacket of lead singer Giles.

If I might risk losing a “like”, I would encourage the band to re-record their tracks on Spotify – they really don’t do them justice.

🎫 Just a kind word of advice from your Dawn Bros: IT'S TIME TO GET YOUR TICKETS FOR OUR LAST WALTZ TOUR in case you don't have them yet! We just got word that Zwolle has sold out for the second time (after the capacity upgrade), and Leiden & Utrecht are completely filled too. In fact, over 75% of the complete tour tickets have sold, with especially Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Groningen (Stadsschouwburg) and Haarlem (De Phil) entering their last few seats! You can get your tickets via the link in our bio on Instagram.

Thanks to all of you who already booked their tickets, this is going to be a wonderful thing. Just a little more than 2 months to go!
