Fleur Jong just made para track & field history. 🇳🇱

The Dutch Paralympic champion became the first para athlete to break the 7-meter barrier in long jump, leaping 7.06m in Oordegem, Belgium.

Jong’s jump came with three marks beyond her previous world record in the same competition — 6.93m, 6.96m and 7.06m.

And while the 7.06m mark was not ratified as a world record because no doping control was conducted at the meet, the jump still stands as a national para record and a historic milestone for the sport.

Seven meters. First para female athlete to do it. History. Photo of para track and field athlete Fleur Jong competing in the long jump inside a stadium, captured mid-jump with one arm raised overhead. Text overlay reads: “Fleur Jong,” “Culxtured,” “Para Track & Field,” and “First Ever Para Athlete to Break 7M Long Jump.”

OLTRE I 7 METRI NEL LUNGO: FLEUR JONG (@fleurjong) 🇳🇱 FIRMA UN SALTO STORICO DA 7,06 ‼️

Autore: Giulia Sicari (@giuliasicari)
