The Gentle Good

The Gentle Good is the moniker of Cardiff-based musician and songwriter Gareth Bonello. Known for his enchanting melodies, intricate guitar style and beautiful acoustic arrangements, The Gentle Good is a highly praised songwriter on the Welsh music scene and a winner of both the Welsh Music Prize and Welsh Language Album of the Year Award.

Flickers from the Fen

Hailing from Somerset’s nethermost moor, Flickers from the Fen’s homely Dungeon Synth sets treasured memories of late night RPG sessions to music. Performing live with an eclectic arsenal of instruments, listeners are placed in the heart of a medieval square on market day. Mercian Sam is the serf behind the synthesis, whose MIDIeval melodies map a tapestry of fantasy nostalgia.

FftF’s third LP ‘Stoned in Gielinor III’ was released 20/2/26 on Crypt of the Wizard / Phantom Lure, supported by tours in the USA and UK/EU. Recent features include The Wire, Bandcamp Daily, Angry Metal Guy, Uncut Magazine and Invisible Oranges

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who attended NORTH WEST DUNGEON FEST last weekend ⚔️

It’s hard to put into words what was an incredible day at @southportbijou last Saturday - to each person who attended and created an incredible atmosphere, to each spellbinding artist who created magic on stage, to each merchant who shared their incredible wares, to the staff at Bijou for working hard to provide the perfect space, to @harpcoffeeandgames for providing ticket support, and to the unbelievable hard work of the NWDF team - to Jem for a year of co-organising, planning and inspiration, to Adam, Alf, Graeme, James and Joe for their support and dedication to the cause behind the scenes - it means more than you can all possibly know…

Going forward @blaggardrecords will be taking the dark months to gather strength again, to arise anew next spring - this year has been a whirlwind of releases, planning and building - we hope to return at full strength next year…

Thank you again to everyone for making last Saturday a success… now onwards to the future ⚔️

NWDF at the weekend was wonderful, eternal thanks to @blaggardrecords for all their hard work and for looking after us so well 🖤

@garyjkings has taken so many phenomenal photos of @flickersfromthefen this year that I can't keep up, so whilst I wait patiently 👀 for the NWDF shots, I'm happy to share my favourites from our New Cross Inn show during the summer ✨ This show was unbelievably sweaty and the use of flash captures that intensity perfectly. No matter how many times Gary photographs us, he always manages to capture something unique -- I admire his dedication and passion for the art greatly 📸

The warm gloom of Barbarian Ring, the eclectic Technicullis, the awe-inspiring Orcus and the infectiously fun Flickers From the Fen - the rest of the incredible artists I saw at the inaugural North West Dungeon Fest in Southport this weekend gone!
I met a few people at this show and one of the things I couldn't stop mentioning was how amazing it was to see a full-day event celebrating this genre of ours in such a close town to my own. If you'd had told younger me 15 years ago that this would happen I'd have not believed you, but of course we have the artists, the fans and the hard work of Blaggard Records + the crew and the staff of the Bijou Cinema in Southport to thank for things like this! May it long continue!

Here’s a couple of disposable camera shots from a show in June with Bell Ringer, Assorted Potions(@assortedpotions), Apoxupon(@apoxuponus), and Flickers from the Fen (@flickersfromthefen). (Herbalists also played but I was juggling keyboards for the audience and didn’t manage to take any photos while I was playing)
