Dear Track & Field,

Thank you for all the memories, lessons, and relationships you brought into my life. From my 2 years in JUCO to competing at the national level, this journey has shaped me into the person I am today. JUCO taught me how to grind, stay patient, and keep believing in myself even when things weren’t perfect. Through all the highs and lows, this sport always gave me something to fight for. The last 3 years weren’t easy battling injuries over and over but somehow I still ended up becoming a 5x national qualifier in the 4x400. That’s something nobody can ever take away from me.

This sport will always have my heart forever. I’m gonna miss the long summers, the hard fall training, the early mornings, the team talks, the bus rides, and just being part of a team in general. Track gave me a second family everywhere I went.

From being in Oregon and then finding out after nationals that we all had to transfer, life changed fast. What felt like one of my best years turned into uncertainty, but everything happens for a reason. I was blessed enough to find another place that became home Madonna University. Even through the injuries, I was still able to see glimpses of what I’m capable of, and that keeps me motivated for life beyond the track.

I’m grateful for every coach who took a chance on me, every teammate who pushed me, and every person who supported me along the way. A lot of people would’ve counted me out, and honestly I could’ve just stayed at the crib and never chased any of this, but track gave me experiences, memories, and relationships I’ll carry forever.

No matter where life takes me next, a part of me will always be on the track. Forever grateful for this journey.
