How many of you know that Florence is the hometown of a world renowned African American artist?

If you are not familiar with William H. Johnson, or his work, we highly recommend visiting the Kindred Spirit exhibit at the Florence County Museum. Thanks to support from McLeod Health, the Museum has several works from Johnson, as well as other artists close to him, on display.

We’ve included a photos of a few of our favorite pieces, but there are many more works to be seen in this exhibit. Take advantage of this rainy weather (and the Museum’s free admission) to learn more about this Florence native.
