RELEASE DAY 🌀🥁

My new LP ‘gilded’ is out on the Irish label @flood_irl

This project began with experiments back in 2023, when I first tried using a bodhrán as a trigger for modelling software

On a more personal level, making this music went hand in hand with a process of letting some old parts of me go, and opening myself up to new ones. In that way, the album has felt like a bit of a fresh start

Thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged this project from the beginning, and especially to those whose voices have elevated this album

INTRODUCING THE SECOND ACT from out allstar lineup at Tengu on September 13th.

We’re over the moon to welcome @ovidmusick back to Dublin. he last graced our shores with an outing with Cork record label @flood_irl - with whom he just released ‘The Palace,’ his third record on FLOOD.

Ovid is a Brooklyn-based Producer/DJ originally from the DC Metro area, who has been making electronic music for over 10 years. He is a frequent contributor to the Irish label FLOOD, as well as the Brooklyn-based Production House Loosee. DJ sets involve a blend of all things percussive, from UK Funky to drum-forward techno, with explorations into the spaces in and outside of those realms.

With my nose still red and peeling, this is my first set back after the HIGH of my life playing at @boomtownfairofficial at @botanica_zoo 2 weeks ago. I've got some serious FOMO footage of me and @soundsofpriscilla absolutely giving it 110%, captured on a 360 camera that I cannot WAIT to share 🔥
Just learning to edit it first 🥴

Tune into @dublindigitalradio this Monday at 10pm for episode 30 of Desire Path to hear the premier of ‘Gilded’ ahead of it’s release next month on @flood_irl. It’s an album I made to experiment with a traditional instrument in a way it’s never been used before, featuring some contributions from some other very talented musicians. I’m excited for it to be broadcast

The episode will feature all music from the album, as well as some unreleased stuff from the project too

Thank you so much to everyone that made it down on Thursday night, was a great atmosphere and there was some amazing music showcased. Thanks must go out to a few people for making the event what it was:

Firstly, the guest DJs @tension_fi @rob.lochhead and Aidan for spinning some impeccable music across a range of genres and sound palettes from ambient to jazz to jungle!

Thanks also to @lostinleithbar for being one the soundest teams of people to work with, you honestly made the whole process so smooth and we hope to be able to work together again in the future !

And finally, a huge thanks to ti.art_ for the wonderful poster!

The sets from this event were recorded and we'll hopefully be able to get them up to SoundCloud and YouTube in case you weren't able to make it down! For a sneak preview, the DRIFT show on @melodicdistractionuk this Sunday at 6pm will feature some of the music from Thursday, so make sure to lock into that!

Until next time

@ssid.802.11 xx
