Q| What realm would you love to travel to?

So grateful to be able to read 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 right after 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀, because I can’t imagine having to wait 5 years after reading that ending?! But let me tell you, it was worth the wait. The stakes are higher, the adventure more action-packed, and the group feels even more like a family than before!

While the first book gave more cozy adventure vibes, this one felt more mature and more goal-oriented. Our pocket-loving artistic FMC, 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻, has yet to find a way back home to her mother in Canada. Together with the friends she made along the way, they fight epic monsters and some of their greatest fears. There is quite a strong divide between good and evil, neglecting the complexity of this divide, but making it easier to comprehend the Nine Realms. This doesn’t mean that the characters lack depth. On the contrary, they all feel so unique and developed. Talia, Jarrett, Tae, Maren, Bash, Moses, and a few others all come from different backgrounds. Therefore, they make a loving and loyal found family. There are allocated animals, meaning that some can speak/are more humane, which I really loved!

I’ve already written about Talia and Jarrett in my previous review, so I’ll write here more about the story, plot, arc, etc. While I adored the adventure, some side quests felt a bit too much or too long for their main objective. I loved them! Personally, it just made me question the timing of everything. Like, weren’t they in a kind of hurry? But other than that, I don’t have any other comments other than positive ones. The worldbuilding is fantastic, and you can see that Ryckman is an artist herself. The way she describes the culture, the colours, fabrics, etc. ✨ is so mesmerizing. We see less of Maren and Moses, in my opinion, but that makes way for a few new characters. Like Bash’s brothers and Joost (a stable boy). I 100% agree that we often underestimate the younger

I’m far from a professional cosplayer, but I try my best to put together something adequate. When I’m not here on bookstagram, I’m probably at a comic con or some kind of bookish event.
My latest event was the Romantasy Fair, which was my first time, and I had to go alone😭, but fortunately, two girls picked me up quickly, and then we spent the evening together. It was so, so magical. My gosh, I got tears in my eyes 🥹. How I wish we could wear such outfits in daily life. I guess we can, but... It’s not very practical.

So, one time you’ll find me with a sword in the hand/ ready to fight crime, and another time you’ll find me swirling around in a big ass dress.

in honor of me reading this series 3 years ago now and the new book coming out soon (i can’t wait!!), i wanted to share my fav teenage crime solvers 😛😛

if you haven’t read the books; the naturals is a group of teenagers that are part of a secret fbi program where each have their own power! they’re meant to solve cold cases but ofc things happen and get taken to the next level, if you know what i meannn ;)

i’ve been trying to use actors as faceclaims but it was too hard for this post so i spent hours searching pinterest instead of scrolling through lists of actors 😭

after wanting to pick up something by ki stephens for the longest time and taking her surprise releasing this AMAZING INCREDIBLE book as a sign, i am planning on reading her entire biography because wow.

let me just say that i had the best time reading cherry picking. it was the perfect book to get out of a romance slump while still being romance and the aspect of the fmc evie being a gravedigger plays a huge role in that i think! ki said that this book had a little gothic touch and i loooove every single thing ugh i don’t even know where to start 😭

the mmc briggs deals with grief and loss starting really early in the book which may cause him to make decisions that feel human and relatable to me as a reader. the book made me laugh, tear up and shocked by the dirty mouth on our fav number thirteen 😋 the writing style, the characters, the way the story and characters deal with loss and grief, literally everything is perfectly done wow!! and then there’s the absolute gorgeous cover omg i am IN AWE!!!

brb telling everyone i know to read this STAT 🍒

burn for you by @authorbridiecharles 🐋☕️🫒

will i ever stop talking about may & raf? probably not! 😌 and honestly, if you read burn for you, you’d instantly get my obsession with them. the beauty in the storyline & the relatability in the characters is pure perfection, the found family delicious and making you crave as if you were part of the group! burn for you is the second book in the ruby cove series, but 4 have already been published, all available in paperback & KU! it is the best binge-able series and so beautiful, each character having something you can relate to while still making you able to dive into the story ❤️‍🩹

bridie, you’re incredibly talented, i’ll never stop saying it and i’ll never stop being your biggest hype girl rooting for you in the corner. i am so so proud of you and of everything you’ve accomplished and it is an honor to have been here since the beginning of it all, watching you make one beautiful creation after the other. i love you 🧡

september wrap up & october hopefuls 🍂☕️

i truly can not believe that it’s already time for another wrap up wow, september has flown by and gone so slowly at the same time and i don’t know how to feel about it BUT fall has officially started, aka the best reading season!! there’s nothing better than reading under a warm blanket while it’s raining outside and you have a hot cocoa next to you ☕️

september was a mixed month for me. the first few days, i spent in the south of france on my trip and as soon as i came back, i dived headfirst into edits for my second book. i haven’t gotten far into that but still. i bought a new laptop that i’m really happy with but i’ve also felt blue. it might be the changing of the weather influencing my mood or just the combination of things but i hope to feel better again soon & read the best books in october because i am desperate need of a 5 star!! ⭐️

i finished my reread last night and god, i am never getting over this book. never ever. so beautiful, the characters AND the story ugh 😭😭😭😭
this entire series brings me the most amount of comfort a book could ever give a person and every time i pick one of them, but especially this one, up, it feels like a hug after a long day 🫂

i love love love the word search puzzle so much and just had to include them because of their little discussion about crossing words out or circling them 😌
already warning you guys that i’ll probably post a second part to these edits because there are so many quotes and yearnings that i wanted to include but couldn’t because of time probs (what’s new?)🥲

i knew i wanted to do something special for them so i made little business cards for the restaurant and included them into the slides :) i wanted to add some other things aswell but that’s going to be for the second part of this edit (has an edit ever been divided in two parts??)

Q| Describe your September in a few keywords

Despite my busy schedule with my studies and 9-to-5 internship, I surprisingly managed to read quite some books (and also research articles, but we don’t talk about that 😵‍💫). Do I sleep? Debatable. But I’m still up and running!

I’ll slowly share some reviews with you, giveaways, and other exciting bookish stuff. But for now, I want to express my excitement for the upcoming month!! @f3m.vx and I are finally going to a comic con together. Since the last time we’ve seen each other, we both went on vacations and (pre)ordered some things, so when we see each other, we’ll be bringing bags full of goodies for each other 😅🤗 Maybe my Silk cosplay will arrive on time (a spiderman-like character); otherwise, I have a backup cosplay because that same day, I’m going to my first Fantasy Fair thanks to @theamericanbookcenter_dh 's giveaway 🥹🙏 Ever since I was little, I watched Say Yes to the Dress and dreamed of these extravagant balls, so this truly feels like a Cinderella moment ✨

Later that month, @rose_reading_books and I are going to a Halloween-themed book event, so I’m really looking forward to that too! 👻

I have some films to catch up on; 9-1-1 will hopefully stream soon after its American release. While I’m waiting for the weekly episodes of The Other Bennet Sister, I’ll continue my most recent series: Stuart fails to save the universe, which is hilarious, and the opening credits are brilliant! It’s a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory.

Also, I really want to read at least one (popular) autumn-coded book, so recommendations are welcome 🤎 Not too spicy, gothic, or melancholic, please. My mental health is fragile at the moment, so I’m looking for a read that feels like a warm hug 🥺🫂

two of my biggest passions are music & books so i figured for today that combining them might be nice; specifically, the songs that i’ve had on current rotation (because i’m not ashamed to admit that when i love a song, i’ll probably have it on repeat until i’ve lost all the courage to listen to it in the first place). i’ve only chosen a few songs & a few books for this post but i have so so much more that i’m able to combine so there might be a part 2 (and 3 & 4 &5?) coming sometime!
