Next week we gather for the very first Wild Power - the first of many evenings created especially for women.

Co-hosted by Ruth Harris and myself at The Hairy Barista, this intimate gathering is an invitation to slow down, connect and celebrate the power of women in community.

The evening will include a beautiful anointing ritual led by Chloe Isidora of MYMOON Power, alongside a seasonal three-course plant-based supper lovingly crafted by chef Meg Evans of A Taste of Nutmeg.

An evening of nourishment, ritual, conversation and connection.

Hello lovelies ♡

Well we officially closed the Totnes store two weeks ago now, what a whirlwind!

Aww, so many messages, worried that Stag + Seer is ending... absolutely not! Evolving more like 😉 Just reverting back to being an online / wholesale biz again...but with some exciting news to share in the next month or two!

So what's the plan? Where are going!? Well, there is an overall goal in mind, but the path there keeps shifting...

Freya's passport has become a whole thing! She not entitled to a British one, so we chose the Swedish route… but not without some complexities! Our plans have had to be reworked... However, what felt like a roadblock now feels like divine redirection!

A whole new way of interacting with life has opened up. Following joy & heart alignment in each moment, using it as our compass.. setting the intention of being on our highest possible timeline, surrendering to the total mystery of it all. Trusting that everything is provided precisely when it is needed 🌊

Spring 🌞 The return of the sunshine has felt so medicinal! Loving an overnight infusion of Cleavers & Nettle. Beautiful way to gently detox & replenish minerals after Winter 🌿

Our fam has also been enjoying dusk walks, so much Magik at that liminal time. Ahh, the luminous quality that Primroses have at twilight...impossible not to feel like you've stepped into the Fae Realm!

A love bomb of Totnes folks we've been enjoying this month....

You know Duncan's @rune_lore_on_dartmoor handcrafted Rune Pendants, he also does Rune readings! Dav had a session with him recently... incredible, if you're feeling stuck/ in need of some clarity. He does online sessions too!

The fab Tess @fableandfawntattoo who skillfully marked my skin, honouring the closing of this chapter.. Such a dreamy space with even dreamier artists!

Adore my Kinoko dress by mama bear Sunny @yukimi.designs It makes me feel like a Goddess & also a dream to breastfeed in! Currently on sale too, yaaas! ✨️

So in awe of @flossiiemay and the way she has transformed #69 so quickly into @brackenantiques A vintage, bohemian treasure trove!! A must visit when in town! 🥰

The work of mothering--even with all the beauty and love and joy-- is still work.

It keeps our hands and laps and hearts and days full, while also often leaving us feeling a little lonely.

We want to be seen- we want our work to be valued, appreciated, celebrated.

I am honored that I get invited in to see the mothers at work, that I get to reflect back to them their labor that is all too often made invisible.

If you would like to work together, I have a few weekend sessions available this spring and summer in the DMV, Colorado and North Carolina.

Our modern tradition of cutting down a tree and bringing it into the home is not very old, its birth suspected to be in the 1700s, with the tradition arriving in England from Germany via Queen Victoria.

The winter solstice, when nights are at their longest and days at their shortest, lands on the 21st December in the Northern Hemisphere. The cold darkness slows life and makes survival hard.

Until recently humans were not excluded from this.

Evergreens symbolised fortitude and the endurance of life in the face of hardship. The circles of wreaths were both symbols of protection and the eternal cycling of life and death, of which we are all part of.

This year some lady friends came round and we wove circles of protection and fortitude together. And ate copious amounts biscuits and mince pies.
Creation Christmas trumps consumption Christmas every time. 🌿

Worried winter isn’t the ideal time for a family photoshoot? 5 reasons why it could just be perfect✨

1. Fewer crowds, more space, more freedom - Our beautiful county of Devon can get busy in the summer, especially on the best beaches. In winter you often have them all to yourselves, and the moody grey skies and pale green dune grass make the most beautiful and striking backdrop.

2. It’s cosy knit season- I love a chunky knit, they add texture and interest in family photos without distracting too much. And is there anything cuter than tiny hands peeking out from a rolled up sweater cuff?

3. Hot chocolate on the beach, need I say more?- A run around in the fresh air, chasing the waves before curling up on a blanket together with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and a piece of cake. Snuggling up together to warm up and getting all the cuddles that busy kids usually won’t sit still for.

4. This is a great time for an in-home photoshoot - Especially if you’re a homebody. Capture your family life just as it is, without even having to put your shoes on and venture out into the cold. Baking together and dancing round the kitchen to K-pop Demon hunters, or reading books together by the fire, this is the perfect season to capture authentic family moments in your own little space.

5. The sun is lower in the sky in winter - making the light softer, more diffused and just generally lovelier. If you’ve got young children but are dreaming of a sunset session this happens almost mid-afternoon at the moment, so you can all be home early in time for tea and a hot bath, what could be better?
