Top 2024 things/moments: my new monoprint collection, my studio space at Magic Shop Studios, starting 100 Coombs, and getting to teach the Minted Watercolor workshop. So grateful so many of my friends got to visit Magic Shop during Open Studios and to help! Thank you @utkankocaturk especially for the photos and @curiosityunites for hammering along with me to hang my art!

For my mom’s 75th birthday, I organized several days of events. The weekend started with “INSPIRE” an incredible printmaking class taught by @flowerbloomthat @magicshopstudios_petaluma
Everyday I’m so grateful to be in a community of artists, and thanks to the generosity and guidance of @the_wandering_women where we get to make art on her press. It’s a new medium and it’s magical.

Jordan taught my mom @globalcityexplorer super fun Chine Colle printmaking techniques on the press. Amazing what an engineer can create on her first time printmaking with an awesome teacher (Jordan and Jennifer who inspired this class) and an inspiring place. We collaged and painted and had a blast. Sharing art is the best gift!

Also @the_wandering_women will be teaching these techniques in the near future! Follow her IG for more info.

It’s been a while since I’ve dined @animo_restaurant in Sonoma. But last weekend I had a super fun dinner with my friend Jordan Felling @pollinatebrand on her first visit to Animo.

In my opinion Animo is at its best with a party of 4 or more because the menu is really designed to be shared. But Jordan and I made it work fabulously by ordering a bunch of the small plates. Everything was so delicious but the three standout dishes that really blew our minds were the Cacio e pepe bucatini with Uni, the tuna puttanesca, and the white asparagus with stuffed morels. These three dishes made me realize that Animo’s cuisine has evolved to not falling into any label other than delicious. It’s really now only about sourcing the best ingredients and thoughtful technique. Eating food like this with someone like Jordan that not only has amazingly diverse knowledge of food, but also gets really excited about great food was pure joy for me.

For wine pairings I brought a 2021 Domaine des Ardoisières, a white blend from the Savoie that’s (40%) Jaquère (30%) Roussane (20%) Malvoisie (10%) Mondeuse Blanche. Jordan told me she likes wines from the Savoie and I remember @alexannsarovich telling me about a Savoie wine @littlesainthealdsburg they are really excited about. It turned out to be a perfect pairing for almost everything we ordered. Also I was shocked at how much the wine list expanded at Animo since my last visit. But when I found out Jordan never tried a @soridellasorba wine from our mutual friends @carlomondavi and @giobagnasco , that was the obvious choice off the wine list. We went with the 2020 Sori Della Sorba Solo per Amore Langhe Rosso. A wine that has surprising structure considering it’s 60% Dolcetto. I can’t wait to do more culinary experiences with Jordan especially exploring my love of street food!
