Back home from Finland ❌

I’d trained very hard for this trip and felt well prepared and in great shape, ready to finish “Burden of Dreams”. Unfortunately, the weather once again didn’t play its part, and over almost two weeks I got three days on the boulder, of which only one had remotely decent conditions.

I really didn’t expect this project to turn into such a battle after feeling so good on it since the first day. Travelling back to Finland again, hoping for those rare good conditions, and then only having a few attempts each session before your skin starts to rip apart, looking for that one lucky try where everything clicks… it makes things very tricky.

I did everything I could and was confident I could climb this boulder, but it just didn’t come together. I might return at some point when I feel like dealing with this again 😂

For now, it’s time to put the shape I’m in to good use elsewhere. Plenty of other projects waiting for me, plus an upcoming World Cup / USA trip. 👊

Marmelade auf der Schulter sit (8B/V13) FA✅

After making quick work of the stand start, @flowmocean.moves and I saw a pretty cool way to add a sit start. Starting on a rail of good holds, it adds a big shoulder move into the original starting hold and makes the whole thing a bit more tiring. I don’t think it’s enough to change the grade of the stand start, but it’s for sure one of the harder 8B’s I’ve climbed.

About two months ago I moved to Innsbruck.
A new city, new walls, new routines - a new chapter.

So I wanted to take a look back at where it all started.

I grew up training in Carinthia - from a young kid who simply loved climbing into an athlete competing on the World Cup circuit. A lot of hard work, many sessions, but most importantly, we always kept the fun along the way.

I’m incredibly grateful for the people I trained with and grew alongside, the @boulderama_klagenfurt crew, and especially my coaches @flowmocean.moves and @zsolt.zakarias - and my bro @nicolaiuznik - who helped lay the foundation for everything that came after.

What makes this even more special is sharing the journey with @felixmader_ . He joined a bit later, put in the work, and is now also competing on the World Cup circuit.

These places, memories, and people are my roots. No matter where I go or what comes next, I’ll always stay connected to them, love you❤️

EMOTIONAL LANDSCAPES
Now live on my YouTube channel ‼️

Once maybe the hardest boulder in the world and barely repeated even today.
Klem Loskot opened it in 2002 at 8C. I finally did it in 2023 and suggested 8C+, since it had always felt insanely hard, especially after a crucial foothold broke.

Still one of my most demanding climbs and one that took a huge amount of effort.
