Controlled Rebellion by Babila Idris

A series of 5ive meticulously crafted pieces, using graphite, charcoal and fire as his primary mediums. The series explores the duality of constraint and liberation in the female experience.
For BABILA, rebellion is not nerely an act of defiance; it is a spiritual movement, an internal revolution. Through these works, he questions societal perceptions of women, particularly the misconceptions that prevent society from fully recognizing the nurturing, healing force that women embody.

The title "Controlled Rebellion" highlights the tension between conformity and resistance.
The series challenges the audience to view rebellion not as an act of war, but as a deliberate and mesured assertion of identity.

Have you ever felt uneasy in a room?
