“What separates us is that we expect to be great.” — Deion Sanders 🏈

Sometimes it takes a little setback to remind a PRIDE of LIONS exactly who they are! 🦁💚💛

These boys left it ALL on the field! Heart, hustle, grit, and a whole lot of FIGHT! 😤🔥

And my #2? He doesn’t just play football. He LOVES this game! 🏈💪🏾

Win, lose, or draw… the heart of a LION never changes! 🦁

If you’ve been following me, then you KNOW how long we’ve been searching for these Prime cleats. 😂😭 Every time we found them, his size was GONE.

Well… HE FINALLY GOT THEM. 🥹🏈🔥

And what makes it even more special is that his big cousin JB @j.bell23 came through and ordered them for him. ❤️

Some things are bigger than a pair of cleats. It’s having people in your corner who listen, who believe in you, and who show up for you. He’ll remember the cleats, but he’ll also remember who made sure he got them.

Thank you, JB. Best big cousin in the world. 🫶🏾

Now stay humble. Be patient. Take advantage of every opportunity.

And #2…

Make them remember your last name. SHEPHERD. 🏈🔥. @deionsanders @shedeursanders @deionsandersjr he got them from his big cousin y’all!! 😂 #PrimeTime #DeionSanders #YouthFootball #FootballMom

Something about that #2. 🏈💚💛
He said he was tapping into his inner @shedeursanders this weekend 😂 and yes, the campaign for those @deionsanders Prime cleats is STILL very much alive.
But there’s a part of the Shedeur story that I hope sticks with my #2 much longer than the cleat obsession ever will.
You don’t need the world to tell you who you are.
One thing Shedeur has always had is a dad in his corner who believed in him LOUDLY. Before the draft position, before the criticism, before anybody else got to decide how good they thought he was—his daddy made sure he knew exactly who he was.
And THAT I understand.
My #2 isn’t the biggest kid on the field. But he’s strong. He’s fast. He has heart. And most importantly, he is learning that nothing is going to be handed to him. He has to earn his reps, earn his opportunities and then SHOW what he can do with them.
First game of the season, he scored his first touchdown of the season and went right back out there and got to work on defense. 🦁
And while the world may not always see you first, choose you first, or give you the credit you think you deserve, that has absolutely nothing to do with what God has for you.
That’s why kids need somebody at home who believes in them before the rest of the world ever does.
You don’t need the world to tell you you’re the best. That’s what Mama and Daddy are for. 😂❤️ We’ll tell you. Your job is to go SHOW them.
Let us pour the confidence into you. Let us remind you who you are when you forget. Let us be ridiculously biased about you. 😂 Because there will be plenty of people in this world willing to tell you what you can’t do.
Home should be the place that reminds you that you can.
So keep working, little #2. Keep getting stronger. Keep getting faster. Keep earning it. And never confuse being overlooked with being incapable.
What God has for you doesn’t require everybody else’s approval. 🙏🏾
Now… none of this means Mama has agreed to buy those Prime cleats. 😭😂😂

I want to wish a very Happy Father’s Day to the man I absolutely adore. 💙

Today, I celebrate a father who chooses his family every single day. A man who shows up, who loves hard, who sacrifices, who teaches, who protects, and who understands that being a dad is so much more than a title… it’s a decision made over and over again.

Because of the work I do and the experiences I’ve had, I’ve seen both sides. I’ve seen the pain that comes when a child wonders why someone didn’t choose them. And I’ve seen the beauty that comes when a father wakes up every day and decides, without hesitation, “I’m here.”

So today, I honor the good dads. The present dads. The dads who want to be there and make sure their children know they are loved.

And most of all, I honor you. We are so incredibly blessed, and I never take that for granted.

Happy Father’s Day, babe.❤️
