🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️LGBTQ+ HISTORY MONTH SPOTLIGHT:

MISS MAJOR GRIFFIN-GRACY 🏳️‍⚧️ 🖤

Some legends make history. Others dedicate their lives to changing the future for generations to come.

Today, TransClinique honors the extraordinary life and legacy of Miss Major Griffin-Gracy (1946–2025), a Black transgender activist, Stonewall uprising veteran, advocate, mentor, and beloved community leader.

From the streets of New York City to her groundbreaking work with the TGI Justice Project in San Francisco, Miss Major spent decades fighting for dignity, safety, and justice, especially for Black transgender women and incarcerated transgender folks.

But beyond her activism was a woman whose humor, compassion, strength, and unconditional love helped countless individuals find community and a sense of belonging.

Her story reminds us that LGBTQ+ history is not simply about the struggles we’ve endured. It’s about the courage, resilience, chosen families, and love that continue to move us forward.

At TransClinique, we celebrate her life, honor her contributions, and remain committed to the future she fought so tirelessly to create.

Rest in power, Miss Major. Your legacy lives on. ❤️

Swipe through to discover her remarkable story. ✨

Standing against hate is not easy work, but it is rewarding work. It is more rewarding standing against hate as a community‼️ Put in the work day and night so we can have a better tomorrow, amen 🙏

Thank you to my teammates across California and Nevada for making it happen!

🐉✨ Paint It Forward is an immersive community experience designed to honor creativity, cultura, and the restoration that art can offer. Centered in shared purpose, the gathering invites participants to create their own guardian alebrije, inspired by the vibrant creatures rooted in Mexican folk art.

Alebrijes are seen as spiritual protectors, symbols of imagination, courage, and the inner strength that carries us through life. As we bring these guardians to life, the event reminds us that giving is both an act of love and a pathway to healing for ourselves and for our comunidad.

Admission is a new unwrapped toy(s) valued at $25+ helping bring holiday joy to children of farmworker families. This effort is in collaboration with DREAMer’s Roadmap, DREAMer’s Roadmap is a nonprofit that helps undocumented students access higher education through a free mobile app connecting them to scholarships and essential resources. The organization also supports immigrant families through community initiatives like #Supplies4Farmworkers

After submitting your RSVP by email, you’ll receive all event details, including the location and what to expect for the evening. 📩 LOUD_Oakland@somosloud.org

Today, we pause to honor Transgender Day of Remembrance.

🕯️ 🩵 🩷 🤍 💐

This day carries the weight of every life we’ve lost to
anti-trans violence, and it also carries the power of our collective memory. We speak their names, we honor their journeys, and we refuse to let their stories fade.

At TransClinique, we stand with our trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive community every single day. We know these times have been heavy and uncertain. You deserve safety, dignity, care, and a world that lets you live fully and authentically.

To everyone who is grieving, holding fear, or carrying the weight of being visible in a world that doesn’t always show love back, please know you are not alone. Your lives matter. Your joy matters. Your future matters.

We’re here for you.
For your health.
For your safety.
For your healing.
For your right to live as who you are without apology.

Today, we honor. And every day after, we commit to building a world where trans lives are protected, valued, and celebrated.
