Throwback to 4th of July 2022

Did you know Glendora Mountain Road, aka GMR, is closed over the holidays, making it super friendly for cycling.its loaded with 5kft of climbing, scenic views, feeding into Mt. Baldy village where you can cool by a pool (if it's still open) or take advantage of the restaurant with a meal and a recovery beverage. There are many ways to take advantage of this super cool climb, some start in Encanto park near HWY 39 then taking east fork to GRR then up to GMR. If you want the full experience I would suggest parking near Glendora High. There's extra credit climbing up Mt Baldy to the ski lift area. Can't wait to do this again with friends

If the speed limit is 35, maintaining speeds above 20 mph will help you stay noticed in an area without a bike lane
You have to make real live calculations when riding in areas without a designated bike lane. Do not assume people places or things are weary of your place on the road. Motorists may be distracted whether it be phone, food, music, good day, bad day, family or friends in the car.
It's your job as a cyclist to access your audience on the road, weed out the nuisance, and move forward accordingly. It's easy to put the blame on the motorists, especially if we did all we could to avoid an incident. Ultimately, you are responsible for keeping your body in motion.
An animals knows nothing of the rules we put on our roads, and people have yet to care enough to give us our place. Be aware and keep moving forward safely

To me? Summer doesn’t start until @ulockmob has their 1st race of the #DTLAGPX it’s the 18th year, so you know the OGs have these races down to a science. This quick bottleneck course had racers dodging traffic in and out and not a scrape to be had. I guess the new generation is learning quick. The racers know this was just the appetizer for the fully packed july to come. GoFundMe Campaign for Injured Marshal!
One of the Moonlight Mash marshals was violently hit by a car during the first Moonlight Mash of 2024 on January 25 at 9:45 pm. Moonlight Mash is fundraising to support the recovery of volunteer marshal Alex Padilla. We hope the hit and run driver will be found, meanwhile, our biggest goal is to help Alex in his long road to recovery.

His healing journey will take an indefinite time and we as Moonlight Mash, and as members of the Long Beach and greater Los Angeles cities and cycling communities, want to help raise contributions which will go towards his medical bills and replacing the bicycle that was destroyed when he was hit.
