Another moment from Arts in the Garden with Stacey @flygirrl Wilson.

For more than 25 years, Stacey has left her mark on Philadelphia through art, design, murals, education and event production. From co-producing the legendary Tastytreats with Questlove, producing private events for Prince, being named a Philadelphia Creative Ambassador, to having her artwork featured on television and published in Jill Scott’s poetry book, her creative journey touches so many different corners of the city.

A Philly creative in every sense of the word.

And a special thank you to @mikegreenidge and his wife Kiara for continuing to build Arts in the Garden into a space that brings so many creatives together under one roof, from up-and-coming artists finding their way to established creatives like Stacey who have helped shape the culture for decades.

That kind of space matters. It creates connection, visibility, opportunity and community.

More than 20 years ago @flygirrl @allworldyameen and @questlove created a new space in Philly nightlife that still exists today. It was one of many moments of Philly history surfaced during @kingbritt’s @blacktronika and the intimacy remains. Tastytreats was a time!

Philly venues mentioned:
- Fluid
- Filo’s

Class is in session and the course is called @blacktronika: Philadelphia Now and Then taught by professor @kingbritt.

Blacktronika during @_artphilly gave us an incredibly history lesson on the dance floor through a series of parties that represented Philly culture at home and abroad.

The lesson extended off the dance floor to Clubfriends at @meantimephl where the artists and creators who shaped a decades long scene detailed how it happened and what it meant for all of us.

Thank you to the @phillymusicalliance for making these live conversations free and accessible to the public

Arts in the Garden is important to me because it’s not just about showing my work. It’s about seeing everyone else’s.

It’s about reconnecting with people who have impacted my journey, meeting other creatives, hearing their stories, and learning about their journeys.

What @mikegreenidge and his wife, Kiara, have built is more than an art event. It’s a space for culture, fellowship, creativity, and opportunity.

Thank you, Mike and Kiara, for creating something that brings so many amazing people together.

I can’t wait to share more videos featuring some of the incredible artists and people
who have inspired me who were also there!

Art hits differently when you experience it in the garden. 🎨🌿

This weekend, I joined more than 40 talented artists and creators for Art in the Garden, a beautiful celebration of local creativity, community and connection.

From the art and music to the food, wine and unforgettable conversations, the energy was everything!

Creativity was in full bloom, and I’ll definitely be back next year! ✨🍷🎶
