As I mentioned the other day, there is no doubt that this is my favourite speedriding/flying spot. But as the sport grows and the mountain gets busier, it’s becoming increasingly important for us to take care of the areas where we fly and the locals who inhabit them.

Not many lift-accessible places in the world offer the freedom we have here in the Alps. But as always, freedom comes with responsibility, and we have to do our best to keep it this way.

I came out to France just to get dumped on! 💩❄️

Seriously a rad couple of days shredding pow & inhaling croissants. I love this place SO MUCH! There’s something really special about how storms affect the mountains out here. It came on fast & heavy, and in just a couple days everything was blanketed in deep deeeeeep snow. Lift lines? Nonexistent. Untracked pow for dayzzzzz…. Not trying to overhype France, but I’m seriously questioning whether I died and am now in heaven.

When people talk about a surf trip to Costa Rica, they’re usually discussing the pacific coast. But what most tourists don’t know about is the hidden treasure that is Puerto Viejo. Lucky me- my best friends uprooted their lives in San Diego 6 months ago to move to this gorgeous location.

It’s a treacherous 5hr drive from the airport to the remote costal community, but so worthwhile. The land teems with life under a dense rainforest. Massive almond trees house tucans, green macaws, sloths, monkeys, and much more. With my nocs around my neck I was on an never ending scavenger hunt! And when I wasn’t looking up, I was looking down to spy agoutis and frogs.

I was not prepared for the insane quality of food at every restaurant we tried. I ate out for nearly every meal- the Caribbean rice & beans, jerk chicken, empanadas, caldosas, Argentinian, and Italian were all some of the best meals I’ve ever had. Plus we cooked our own delicious Caribbean infused thanksgiving dinner- which I ended up overeating & yaking up…

I managed not to put on too many pounds, because despite the overeating, I worked it off in the ocean. Surfing in the Caribbean was a bit different than the SoCal waves I’m used to. But once you learn to read them they are incredibly fun (and warm). There was a swell for most of my trip which was good news for surfing but bad news for snorkeling. We got a little peek at the reef at the end of my stay, but I will absolutely be returning when the ocean is calm enough for better visibility!
