How do I pick a favorite when there are this many great people and this many great memories?

Every one of these pictures has a story attached to it — a conversation, a laugh, something I learned, something we made, or just a moment with someone I’m damn glad to know.

Maker Camp is special because of the people.

Thanks for including me in this crazy, creative tribe. Thanks for inspiring me, making me laugh, sharing what you know, and always making me feel like I belong.

Most of all, thanks for being my people.

Thanks again to @flyinhighhatco @themakercamp for having these amazing educational opportunities. This hat will last a lifetime and I’m excited to see if I can do another in the future. Hats are like potato chips, you really can’t stop at one. Make sure you like and follow them for your future projects!!!

@themakercamp this was my first time at this event. Normally I just do Blacksmithing and this time I really did anything but. I wanted to broaden my skill set and appreciate more other crafts that I may add to my work. I got there about Friday afternoon and began to get the lay of the area and start planning on where to take classes. As I was walking I saw a tent that offered you make your own hats @flyinhighhatco . The educators were amazing as I talked with them and suddenly I decided to make a proper felted hat. I’ve taken probably over 80 classes if not more in my craft. This couple was one of the best in teaching I’ve ever had the privilege to learn from. They actually got my thick ass smith fingers to sew! So much more to come. I just wanted to thank them again and will definitely do this again. I opted for Nutria felt as it was invasive and made a thin red line of leather giving a nod towards my other firefighter career. #hardworkgoodluck #grateful #amazingteacher

🎬 TRAIL TOWN THURSDAY: SILVER FALLS + SILVERTON

Hoa hoa hoa season has arrived at Silver Falls State Park, where the forest played a memorable role in Twilight. Begin at the Oregon Film Trail marker at the Howard Creek Trailhead, near the location of the opening deer-hunting scene, and the “spider monkey” scene, use @setjetters to explore more nearby locations.

The park’s screen credits also include The Hunted (2003), Just Before Dawn (1981) and the opening scenes of Yogi Bear (2010).

Make a day of it: hike the Trail of Ten Falls, stop at historic South Falls Lodge, then explore the 130-acre @oregongarden in close by Silverton. Buy a custom hat at the @flyinhighhatco or browse the antique stores and vintage clothing boutiques, and head over to the historic downtown for coffee, good eats, locally owned shops and more than 30 amazing murals. (Let us know if you Bobby the Wonder Dog 🐾)

Come for the Twilight locations. Stay for the waterfalls, gardens, murals and small-town charm. 🌲
