🥁 Flyleaf – So I Thought | Drum Cover

Pour moi, la plus belle balade du monde. 🖤

Joué avec les baguettes… et surtout avec le cœur.

Et vous, c’est quoi LA balade qui vous donne encore des frissons ? 👇

21 years ago today, October 4, 2005, Flyleaf released their self-titled debut album.

There are albums you discover, enjoy, and eventually associate with a certain period of your life.

And then there are albums that grab you almost immediately and refuse to let go.

Flyleaf was one of those albums for me.

This record introduced me to one of the first bands I truly went all in on. There was something about their sound, their energy, and especially the raw emotion behind these songs that I had never been drawn to so quickly before.

From the opening eruption of “I’m So Sick” through “Fully Alive,” “Cassie,” “All Around Me,” “Red Sam,” and all the way to “So I Thought,” the album felt different. Heavy without losing its vulnerability. Beautiful without sanding away its rough edges. Lacey’s voice could move from fragile to absolutely ferocious in seconds, and the band built an entire atmosphere around it.

They became one of those bands where being a fan wasn't simply about putting on an album, it became part of my own journey through music.

And 21 years later, hearing these songs can still take me right back to discovering them for the first time.

Some albums become nostalgic because of the era they came from.

Others become nostalgic because they helped define your era.

For me, Flyleaf will always be one of those records.

Happy 21st anniversary to Flyleaf's self-titled debut.

💜Happy (late) birthday, Lacey!💜

This is also a good time to remind everyone that SEPTEMBER IS SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH.

It’s okay to not be okay.

You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to pretend you’re fine. And you don’t have to carry everything by yourself.

Check on your friends. Check on the people who seem strong. Listen without judgment. Be kind, you never truly know what someone else is carrying.

And if you’re struggling, please reach out. Your story isn’t finished.

📞 Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S. and connect with a trained crisis counselor.

Stay. 🖤

I am grateful that I was so fortunate to have seen #Flyleaf over a dozen times between 2006 and 2010.
Hard to believe this photo, taken during the 2006 #familyvalues tour, is twenty years old. Its been amazing watching this band grow, overcome obstacles, and thrive over the past few decades.
I'm also envious of everyone that's attending the 20th anniversary tour. Keep posting your photos and videos!
