@get_mice , in collaboration with @ragazzi__di__strada invite you to MICE Presents: Continuons le Combat. The second installment of 'MICE Presents', the exhibition series dedicated to explore t-shirt archives and the designers behind them, will cast light on the guerrilla brand founded in 1991 in Pescara by Giampaolo Bernardini – also known for his music merch venture Helter Skelter. Inspired in its name by a French slogan of May 68, Continuons Le Combat has since been printing and selling left-wing political t-shirts at demonstrations across Italy, turning the sentiments and tensions of the protests and dissent of the 1990s and early 2000s into wearable slogans. Spanning across thirty years of activity, the exhibition will showcase some of his most cult as well as rare t-shirts, next to archive footage, photographs and print ephemera curated by Ragazzi di Strada that capture the social and political context of the last great season of Italian political participation and turmoil. MICE presents: The Scarful Archives – Rome Edition “MICE Presents” is a series of exhibitions dedicated to t-shirt archives entirely authored by a single designer, illustrator, artist, or collector, exploring the visual culture and stories behind them. The first edition focuses on Scarful, aka Alessandro Maida, whose work across illustration, graphic design, tattooing, and music has been part of the Roman and Italian underground for over thirty years. After the first Scarful Archives exhibition in Milan, MICE brings the project to Rome. All 150 original T-shirts designed by Scarful will be exhibited alongside sketches, original artworks, and archival material connected to their production and history. During the event, a live screen-printing session in collaboration with @straighttohellmerchandclothing will feature four graphics taken from Scarful’s original sketchbook. More info coming soon.
