🚨 TELANGANA FMG STIPEND PROTEST | 14 OCTOBER 2026

FMG interns from across Telangana staged a peaceful protest near the DME Office, Hyderabad, demanding stipend parity and justice.

Despite submitting representations on 23 September and 9 October, we received no official response, leading to the boycott of routine OPD and ward duties from 8 October.

Today, district-wise representatives met Ms. Vani, DME Telangana, and discussed our concerns. The department stated that more time was needed to examine the issue and consult the concerned ministry. However, no official written circular resolving our demands has been issued yet.

✊ OUR 3 DEMANDS
▪️ ₹29,792 monthly stipend for eligible FMG interns, at par with IMGs.
▪️ Release of eligible pending stipend dues from January 2026 onwards.
▪️ No unfair internship extensions or retaliation for participating in peaceful protests.

📢 We will continue our peaceful protest until our demands are addressed through an official written circular or notice.

Our voices are united. Our demands remain clear.

Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) interns across Telangana’s Government General Hospitals are protesting for the release of the applicable ₹29,792 monthly stipend. Despite submitting representations to higher authorities, the issue remains unresolved.

📢 We demand an official government order, fair treatment, and immediate resolution of the pending stipend issue.

Our demand is clear. Our unity is strong. Our voices deserve to be heard!

‼️ Day - 1 ‼️
We are Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) who completed our MBBS abroad and cleared the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), a mandatory licensing examination in India. After qualifying, we are allotted CRMI internship in hospitals and perform duties including OPD, wards and casualty/emergency services.

Our main concem is stipend parity. We are seeking stipend at par with Indian Medical Graduates (IMGs), which in Telangana is 29,792/month, along with applicable pending dues, as per the applicable NMC directions and relevant orders.

However, many FMG Interns receive no stipend, while some receive only 5,000/month, despite performing the same Internship duties.

We have raised this issue repeatedly and on 23 September 2026 submitted a representation to the DME, Telangana, but have not received a satisfactory written resolution.

Therefore, we are proceeding with a peaceful collective protest from 8 October, following the planned schedule and applicable rules. If the issue remains unresolved, we will peacefully approach the DME from 14 October seeking a written order/circular on stipend parity.

We respectfully request the DME, Health Department and Government of Telangana to Intervene and resolve this issue at the earliest.

Our request is simple: Equal work deserves an equal stipend.
