BEST WEEK! BEST WEEK!
Jamestown friends and Merc friends and Oak Friends and Dolly Friends and Spaceship friends and musicians, and all you strangers that just aren’t friends yet… LISTEN UP!

Wednesday- Burgers and Open Mic. (Chillest vibinest Open Mic in America.)

Thursday- It’s a double header.
First- THE CORONATION OF OAK CHEZAR as Jamestown’s inaugural Poet Laureate. Open at 5pm. Ceremony at 5:30 sharp. Poetry by this radical magical queen to follow.
Then at 7pm- the best banjotron bluegrass in the universe: FOGGY MOUNTAIN SPACESHIP
What could be better than Chris Sheldon, Chris Elliott and Kyle Ussery playing their psychedelic galactic banjomania?
Because of the special event, we will have many traditional public official’s meals to offer for dinner-
Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation Chicken, King Charles’s Coronation Quiche, Regan’s Inauguration Chicken with Asparagus and Lemon, Clinton’s Inauguration Salmon with Sorrel and Obama’s Inauguration Cioppino. Pick your figurehead and/or their luncheon special.

Friday- The National Holiday you didn’t know you needed but you do. 9/25 as in “9 to 5” is National Dolly Parton Day and we are celebrating in style. THE DOLLY CAKES are playing, so listen up! If you are a musician who also loves Dolly and would like to come sing a song, let us know right away. Email or DM us here by Wednesday. Like the Merc, Dolly liked to pitch a wide tent, and we want all Dolly lovers to feel empowered to come sing their love out. We’ll have dinner specials, fun drinks, lotta love in the air.

Saturday- Little market. Burritos, Juice, Coffee and pastries.

Sunday- The dreamiest morning, the JOHN SHEPHERD long set! We’ll be working hard flipping eggs so you can enjoy the most extravagant meal of the week. If you don’t have hollandaise and a mercmosa, then how do you know if it’s really Sunday?

Last weekend, Slow Food (@slowfoodboco) brought chefs, farmers, producers, and food lovers together at Sunflower Farm (@sunflowerfarm_info) for the 4th annual Plant a Seed for Change, an afternoon centered around Good, Clean, and Fair Food for All.

The gathering featured chefs recognized with Slow Food’s Snail of Approval, including Chef Chris Royster of Flagstaff House (@flagstaffhouse_restaurant), Grant Buchanan of GB Culinary and Peachtree Farm (@gbculinary), Nick Swanson (@nicholasswanson) of Urban Field Pizza (@urbanfieldpizza), Samuel McCandless (@samuelmc13) of Corrida (@corrida_boulder), Hosea Rosenberg (@chefhosea) of Blackbelly (@blackbellyco), Daniel Asher (@chef_danielasher) of River and Woods (@riverandwoodsboulder), Alex DeBernardis (@chef_a_db) of Basta (@bastaboulder), Erick Vargas (erickjvm.96) of 24 Carrot Bistro (@24carrotbistro), Alberto Sabidini of The Academy on Mapleton Hill (@theacademyonmapletonhill), and Kai Benson of Moxie Bread Co. (@moxiebreadco).

The Snail of Approval recognizes food businesses that support local food systems and embody Slow Food’s values of food that is good, clean, and fair.

Chef Chris Royster and the team at Flagstaff House joined Slow Food Boulder County (@slowfoodboco) at Sunflower Farm (@sunflowerfarm_info) for the fourth annual Plant a Seed for Change, alongside an impressive group of chefs who have earned Slow Food’s Snail of Approval, recognizing their commitment to food that is good, clean, and fair.

Chef Chris’ Succotash earned second place in the chef tasting, featuring Sunflower Farm’s Boston Marrow squash, Cherokee purple tomato, and fresh dill; sweet corn from Munson Farms (@munsonfarms); and braised pork belly from Buckner Family Ranch (bucknerfamilyranch).

Slow Food is a global, grassroots movement connecting the pleasure of food with the pursuit of a food system that is good for people, good for the planet, and fair to the people who grow and produce it.

We’re grateful to Slow Food and Slow Food Boulder County, and to the farmers and producers who made the afternoon possible. We’re proud to have helped celebrate the people, places, and practices that shape our local food community.

We’re honored to be joining @SlowFoodBoCo for the 4th annual Plant a Seed for Change celebration at @SunflowerFarm_info on Sunday, August 23.

As a Slow Food Snail of Approval certified restaurant since 2022, 24 Carrot Bistro is proud to be part of a community committed to Good, Clean and Fair Food for All — supporting thoughtful sourcing, local agriculture, regional foodways, and a food system built to last.

Representing 24 Carrot at this year’s event will be our Chef de Cuisine, Erick Vargas @erickjvm.96

With more than 12 years of professional kitchen experience — and an even earlier start helping in his family’s restaurants — Chef Erick brings both skill and creativity to every plate. His approach to food reflects so much of what we value at 24 Carrot: respect for ingredients, curiosity in the kitchen, and a deep appreciation for the people and places behind the food we serve.

Chef Erick is honored to cook alongside an incredible group of local chefs, makers, and producers, including @bastaboulder, @riverandwoodsboulder, @blackbellyco, @corrida_boulder, @academyboulder, @urbanfieldpizza, @flagstaffhouse_restaurant, @gbculinary, @foggymountainspaceship, @thepalobar, @moxiebreadco, and @masaseedfoundation.
