Memoria, Resistencia & Community Power presented by @actionlabny @bxmusic and La Peña del Bronx-

From the streets of Chile to The South Bronx, Octubre Rebelde honored generations of resistance against fascism, dictatorship, and political repression through the power of culture.

Hosted by @rodrigostarz of @rebeldiaz, featuring Mapuche MC @waikil_rapmapuche and rising voices @roquestarz, @illkofran, and @lamusicology, the night brought Hip Hop, reggaeton, and merengue rap together in a celebration of Chilean resistance and diaspora.

A powerful photography exhibit curated by Chilean photographer @folilpueller featuring rickyflores @gabriel.himself @colon.maximorafael and @fotopepe_73 connected past struggles to the fight for liberation today, and also included a short panel afterwards.

Dedicated to the revolutionary legacies of Víctor Jara and Miguel Enríquez, we remember, resist, and keep building community power. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿💯💯💯❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️

We launched the No Kids In Prison magazine in New York City last week with an inspiring celebration of creativity, art and justice. We celebrated local youth artists, performers, and creatives who contributed their talents to the magazine and who stand in solidarity with our vision to end youth incarceration. Special thanks to our partners and friends at Artistic Noise (@artistic_noise), Center for Art and Advocacy (@centerforartandadvocacy), The Action Lab (@actionlabny), and everyone who came out to support. 📸 @folilpueller

And we’re not done yet – we’ll be in Philly on Sept 18th with a special preview of our upcoming billboard series featuring the 2026 Block x Block fellows, letter writing to incarcerated youth and more!

Save the Date:
📅Sept 18th in Philadelphia, PA w/ @carenotcontrolpa

Since May, we’ve distributed over 3,000 copies of the magazine in communities heavily impacted by youth incarceration, as well as in juvenile detention facilities in New York, Connecticut and Arizona. It’s such a joy to come together to share directly impacted young people’s artistry, writing and creativity with new audiences. If you’re in Philly we’d love to see you there!

Halloween 2025 !! Last minute costume ideas worked out! @folilpueller showed out with her Dia de Los Muertos calaveritas facepaint- Roque was a gorilla, Lila B was Curious George, and I was an old skeleton showman! Lol. Dressing up is fun and encouraged in this little family. With so much pain and sadness in the world, with families being separated by ICE, families torn apart by Genocide- we are taking it day by day and tryna survive this madness. Feeling beyond blessed to have the Tribe close and in tune. Thankful for Larch Ave in Teaneck for the safe family atmosphere their blocks always have.
