Grateful, overwhelmed, excited, delighted and all the emotions for/by the response to NANNY ahead of Thursday’s BBC Radio 4 broadcast

The last few years have been a lot — births, deaths and everything in between — and this little play has been there through it all

Please tune in this Thursday at 2.15pm on @bbcradio4, and share with anyone who might enjoy it (looking at you parents and comedy/musical theatre fans 👀).

Pick of the Week in The Observer, Sunday Times, Radio Times, Mail on Sunday, The i Weekend and The Times… and I’ve still failed to make my children proud:

“I’m not proud of you. Why would I be proud? It’s not exciting for me” — Wilf
(he’s literally in it too, it should be exciting for him for that reason if nothing else)

Directed by Sara Pascoe, produced by Perfectly Normal and Folio for BBC Radio 4.

⭐ STAGEY SHOW DAY - NANNY - BRISTOL OLD VIC ⭐

Visited the Bristol Old Vic this evening, in the studio theatre for the first time, to see Nanny - A Play With Songs ✨

An entertaining tale of friendship, grappling with dreams of fame and fortune, amid the eccentric world of nannying 👶

Wonderfully witty performances by Alana Ramsey and Lizzie Stables, giving shades of French & Saunders 🌟

The script, written by the aforementioned and Jenny Rainsford, also evokes moments of real poignancy 🥺

Accompanied by a great collection of silly songs (with clever lyrics) by @kathyandstella composer Matthew Floyd Jones 💖

A prickly delight ✨ X x x

Look out world, this lot have been released upon you! BTEC L3 Performing Arts Second years graduated today and what a class they have been. Congratulations to those who got into top Drama Schools or Universities, those who have been brave enough to take a gap year in order to re-audition for the conservatoire that's right for them or who have chosen to head straight into the industry! I'm very proud of the progress you've made (both personal and professional) and I'm excited for what lies ahead for you all.
Big thanks to all the industry folk who in some way or another, made their two years an extra special experience.
