Deluxx Folk Implosion is a combination of the members of @folkimplosion (Lou Barlow / John Davis) and Deluxx (Bob Fay / Mark Perretta). Lou & Bob were also then-bandmates in Sebadoh.

Also, thanks again to @fuzzylegendstv for the upload!

It’s such a small world you know. I was looking for a track to put with this mask build montage. I found this song in my playlist “Natural One” by John Davis & Lou Barlow of @folkimplosion . On further investigation, and correct me if I’m wrong, this song was commissioned for the movie Kids. Kids was written by Harmony Korine. Harmony Korine made the movie Gummo, the aesthetics of which loosely inspired my Polaroid photo project Gummo Land of which I originally made these masks for. The masks I made did not work well for the Gummo Land project so now they exist on their own. And so here we are, not quite a full circle but a bunch of random dots somewhat connected. I wonder how many degrees the puts me away from @kevinbacon

Anyway I digress as I so often do. Thanks to John Davis & Lou Barlow of @folkimplosion for this timeless track!

And yes I do sell these masks as fine art pieces. This one has sold but there are a few still available on my website. Check the link in my bio.

Day 47……..💃🏼

Continuing on with the soundtrack portion of these outfit videos. One of the best soundtracks of the 90’s….KIDS. This movie terrified our parents and slightly terrified us too, but mostly we loved the music, and the relatability of it. The dangerous freedom of our teen years, the music, the skateboarding, the clothes and of course NYC. I cannot count the number of times my friends LOVED quoting this movie to me being that my name is Darcy😂🙄IYKYK

It was hard to pick one from this record because there are SO many good ones but I had to go with @folkimplosion . And this outfit seemed perfect for it. And a tribute to New York today seemed fitting.

Entire outfit thrifted on @depop
