Food Rescue at @aldiusa for the @foodtrapproject Bodega ❤️

We rescued 220lbs from going to waste and distributed it to Black & Indigenous families in North Minneapolis ✨

Did you know?

According to Forbes, US grocery stores waste about 9.6 billion pounds of food each year, which is around 30% of the 40% of food waste that occurs at the retail level. 😳

This is the unfortunate reality of industrial food systems 🚫

It overproduces, overcharges then waste what cannot be sold instead of feeding people who need it 😠

By rescuing this food we make a small dent in those numbers along with other organizations like @tcfoodjustice 💞

This is what food justice looks like on a small scale imagine if there was more community fridges & partnerships like this nationwide 🌍

The @foodtrapproject is officially up and running ❤️

This 100% free resource hub is dedicated to supplying health foods and education to Black & Indigenous Folx in the North Minneapolis community ✨

In there you will find 100% plant-based goods ✅

- Fresh produce
- Grains
- Flours
- Cereal
- Canned Goods
- Beans
- Herbs
- More +

We’ll be there this week from 10-3pm letting folks know that it’s open! During that time you can stop by and ask us about the plant-based lifestyle, donate food or come grab food!

Next week regular hours will go into full effect: Mon-Sun 8am-8pm 😊

This is a community run project so volunteer shifts will be open for people to sign up to come open, check on it and close the F.T.P Bodega 💐

We’re located in the front field of Sanctuary Church at 2018 Aldrich Ave N right on Broadway !

(Hold your thumb on the screen to pause to read lol)

I started my Alkaline Healing journey at the age of 19 in 2017. At the time i didnt know what to expect and i had no idea it would change my life the way it did. As a huge foodie I never thought I’d transition to this lifestyle but once I did and felt the benefits it was impossible to go back. It was like taking the red pill to the matrix. Now I educate and support people to do the same. You cant tell me God aint real 🙏🏽

Thank you to all those who’ve been a part of the journey this whole time! I hope you come celebrate with us Saturday 7/27 for the grand opening of the @foodtrapproject ❤️
