A lovely end to my last summer as a kid and the end of an era at Grandview. My family helped launch the Grandview campus over 10 years ago and through time, I have seen it grow so much. I started as a student with 13 others. Well now our internship program has over 100 people and the student ministry exceeds 500 people. These people have my heart and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for this next season. I came into students not knowing that I would soon develop a family there, who would lift me up and walk me through so much and bring some of my favorite memories. I would not be where I am without the faithfulness of my leaders and friendship of my fellow students. Till the day I die, “Grandview got my back cause we tight like that” ✊

(my debrief of 1/1-7/28)… people overestimate what they can do in half a day, and underestimate what they can do in half a year nearing the end of 2025, and the end of my last fall semester at Highlands College, in my heart I felt like I heard this invitation so clearly, “put instagram down and anything else that will distract you until your birthday. watch what I do.” to say this has been the most eventful half year of my life would undoubtedly be an understatement “we are formed by what and how we see.” if you combine this truth with any time you allot to God, it will multiply your wonder the circumstances that I was given this half year is not what made it eventful (although a lot did occur), what made it eventful was the amount of times I noticed the transcendent in the incarnate the beauty of being able to see rightly is incomparable to any human experience - Z

I run but I’m not a runner. I run but not to be the fastest. I run but not for the stats. I run but not for the achievements. I run because my heart needs it. I run because it helps to regulate and reset my nervous system. I run for the community. I run because it’s fun! I run because It’s building a habit of perseverance in me. I ran a half marathon yesterday and it was a movie! It will be a day that I’ll remember for a long time. Yes there was so much excitement and joy because of the camaraderie of friends and family celebrating the race and just enjoying time but in reflecting on it and my time since taking up running I’m learning that running isn’t just about fitness or meeting goals or getting faster for me. The choice to show up everyday and run and the choice to say yes to each step on every run, to keep going even when I’m sore or tired, is creating a resilience in me and spilling over into other areas of my life that I struggle with discipline. So running is so much more for me than just a run. It’s an opportunity to practice showing up for myself and discover that I am capable of staying in the tension of anything life brings my way. Even when it’s so difficult and painful. I have more to give even in the lowest moments. So grateful for family and friends who constantly show up and cheer me on! This journey has honestly been such a blast and I owe a huge part of that to the people I have gotten to walk (or run) through it with! 💙
