🍔 @steyningtownfc Review 2026/27

Next up, the defending champions.

Steyning Town have taken the burger crown for the last two seasons, so expectations were high. Could they make it three in a row?

Straight away, the butcher’s patty reminded me exactly why they have been top dogs. Proper beef flavour, great quality and genuinely as good as you are going to find at this level. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. Perfect score.

The bacon was excellent too. Cooked really well, plenty of flavour, a good bit of colour and none of the chewy fat that can ruin an otherwise decent burger. Very nearly perfect.

And absolutely no ELB nonsense here. Brioche bun all the way. A decent bun that held everything together nicely, although there was still a little room for improvement.

Then we get to the cheese.

There was plenty of proper burger cheese and it was nicely melted, but somehow most of it had escaped from the middle of the burger. Plenty around the edges, but when you got into the centre there was basically no cheese left.

To make matters worse, quite a bit of it had worked its way underneath and made the bottom part of the bun soggy.

A small thing, but when you are defending back to back titles, the fine margins matter. 😂

Scores:

🍔 Patty: 10/10
🥓 Bacon: 8.5/10
🧀 Cheese: 6.5/10
🍞 Bun: 7.5/10

Total: 32.5/40

And just like that, the defending champions go straight to the top of the 2026/27 Bun Desliga table, half a point ahead of Arundel.

That butcher’s patty is the first 10/10 patty of the season, and paired with some seriously good bacon, Steyning have once again set the standard.

The cheese distribution stopped this from scoring even higher, but 32.5/40 is going to take some beating.

Three in a row?

The rest of Sussex have officially been warned. 🍔🏆⚽

🫧Kleines Hauptstadt-Derby: West Ham United vs. Queens Park Rangers, London Olympic Stadium.🏟️

🔵Blue is the colour, football is the game: Chelsea vs. Bournemouth, Stamford Bridge.🏟️
