It’s not easy to raise a deer to six years old.
Most never make it that far in the wild.
At the Hogan Wilderness Retreat, we take pride in doing it differently.
High fence, but our deer still breed naturally.
No ear tags.
No overcrowding.
A true 1 to 1 buck to doe ratio.
These are wild deer living wild lives.

Congratulations to Kris Shawver of Alvin for being the proud new owner of a Forager Outdoor Feed Ball! Kris harvested a banded Eurasian Collared dove in the 2025 fall season and was entered in the Banded Bird Challenge, making him an automatic winner!

The Feed Ball is a 700lb-capacity broadcast wildlife feeder, valued at over $1,495. It’s one of the hottest newer feeders on the market, with a great customer service team behind it and their other products — check them out at forageroutdoor.com.

Along with his Feed Ball, Kris will also receive a Cowboy’s Game Washer bucket and a Dove Cord … thanks to more of our awesome TBBC sponsors and partners, @gamewasher and @thedovecord.

This buck earned the name "Dirty Ought Trill" for a reason. He’s got the frame, the character, and just enough chaos in his antlers to make him unforgettable. Big, bold, and unmistakably Trill

Sixteen-point typical bruiser with 10-inch brow tines. This buck is all frame, all future. The genetics at #HoganWildernessRetreat just keep getting better.

After a full weekend of taking care of culls, the hunt ended just right—with a great trophy. We love it when a plan comes together.
