I don’t often delve into grey. It’s a colour I’ve never been sure about. Kind of a non-colour default when you don’t know what else to choose. I’ve used it in my own home though on fitted cupboards in the bathroom and kitchen. They’re super glossy which gives them a lift. But they will be the first thing I’ll replace in time. Then again, I recently committed to the decision to move in 2 years (when small switches schools) so now I’m in that space of no longer wanting to spend on the house. I have a glorious wallpaper from @romo_fabrics (the one with the glorious dangling leaves) which I’d planned to hang from upstairs to down in the hallway. I was going to introduce a deep dark turquoise! I was going to change the kitchen. Not to forget all the various heat keeping measures. But now I’ve screeched to a halt. I’ll do the bare basics to keep everything in good order but I’m planning ahead now. Of course, this presents me with a dilemma… if we should endeavour to live more in the moment as the future is not guaranteed, should I just hang, and enjoy, the wallpaper now??! Luxuriate in fresh colour?Also, I just finished inhaling Deborah James’ @bowelbabe book ‘How to Live when you could be Dead’. I listened to it on @audible_uk, narrated by @gabyroslin. Sobering. Inspiring. Humbling. Awakening. It both crystallised my goal to move (I want a new project plus room for teaching space); and made me profoundly aware of what I have to be grateful for, right now. From a home at all, to good health, options and opportunities. I’d recommend it. But also Miriam Margolyes outrageously funny memoir (listen on Audible too to hear her narrate it and do all the voices!) because laughter is also essential, today and for our tomorrows. And Lord knows we’re all potentially going to have to dig deep this winter.

Gosh, the last time I looked at greys was January 2018! I guess it’s not really a palette I’m personally drawn to, although I appreciate its soothing, calming qualities for some. But, I adore this moodboard as the grey is set off by pale blues and beiges, and tons of texture, natch. Tap for tags as always.

Tourism has seen a dramatic reduction in the amount of starfish on Starfish Beach in Phu Quoc. If you look back at pictures, some have 100’s of starfish in. The reality of it is we walked the length of the beach, and all we found were these two starfish.
