Don’t miss the final days of our Young Artists’ Gallery Takeover! As we celebrate the closing of this incredible exhibition, Waterfall Arts is proud to mark 10 years of partnering with Belfast-area schools to showcase the creativity of our region’s young artists.

In honor of Youth Art Month—a national celebration recognizing the importance of visual arts education—this show has brought together inspiring work from students in grades PK–12, spanning painting, photography, ceramics, and more.

The Clifford Gallery at Waterfall Arts has been filled with imagination, talent, and the powerful voices of the next generation. This exhibition represents not just artwork, but a vibrant community—students, educators, families, and supporters—coming together to uplift youth creativity across the Midcoast.

🗓️ On view through April 3
📍 Waterfall Arts

Stop by before it closes and help us celebrate the passion, expression, and hard work of these young artists. Let’s continue to support and make space for youth voices in the arts!

We’re excited to welcome the new year with Homegrown, our 2026 Denizen exhibition, opening in the Clifford Gallery. This show celebrates the people who make Waterfall Arts feel like home—a place rooted in shared creativity, care, and belonging.

For many of us, home is wherever we feel most comfortable, loved, and connected. For others, it’s wherever we are making art—finding meaning, asking questions, and giving form to our inner lives. Homegrown honors both truths. It recognizes that belonging can be cultivated, and that creativity often takes root in the places where we feel safe enough to grow.

Homegrown highlights the work of Waterfall Denizens: staff, volunteers, teaching artists, studio holders, artists in residence, curators, board members, and more. Created in studios, kitchens, barns, and in the quiet hours between daily life, these works reflect the many ways art is woven into our community. Some artists create full time; others work in brief windows of light—but all are connected through the act of making.

Join us as we kick off 2026 by honoring the creative roots that sustain Waterfall Arts and the people who help it grow.

Exhibition dates: January 16 – February 27, 2026
Opening Reception: Saturday, January 17, 1:00PM to 3:00PM

We are so excited to spotlight another artist from this Friday's Holiday Market!

All these new faces are a testament that our community is constantly evolving and growing.

Bobby, @sun.machine.stained.glass, is originally from Fox River Grove, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, Bobby now calls Freedom, Maine, home!

A lifelong creator, Bobby says he’s been making art for as long as he can remember, always diving headfirst into any new creative practice that catches his attention. When asked about the influences that shaped his artistic journey, he recalls the friends he spent late nights with during his teens and twenties, all of them constantly pushing each other to experiment, collaborate, and keep creating.

This year marks Bobby’s first time participating in the Holiday Market, and his first real experience working with us at all! We love new faces! He heard about us through a friend of a friend (talk about word of mouth), and then came to Waterfall for an exhibit opening and open house with friends. He remembers the studios being open and the atmosphere feeling warm and welcoming.

With everything from glass, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, prints, and paintings, this event is the perfect opportunity to find meaningful, handmade gifts while supporting local talent.

📅 Friday, Dec 5th, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m
📅 Saturday, Dec 6th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Holiday market artists include: @hamptonsyogahealingarts, @sun.machine.stained.glass, @fireflyfelt, @smcfiberstudio, @_fairydog_, @3leggeddogink, @wintergreensworkshop, Elexis Vesely, Jette Kemper, @wishboneclay, @shanshanimal, @artescamp_creations, @lisashepperdpottery, Suzanne Lametta, @tokiko.oshima, @tanyaharsch, @jenniebluevermont, @emmaschurinkart, @saltandsap, @kpainter61

As we are entering the final day of Threaded Together, closing tomorrow, November 22, we couldn’t be prouder of this powerful exhibition.

Showcasing work by 21 artists from our beloved Stitch Social community group, the show highlights the expressive depth of fiber art in all its forms—embroidery, knitting, crochet, felting, weaving, and beyond. Each piece carries personal stories, shared experiences, and the connective care that has shaped this group since its start in early 2023.

As Program Director Amy @tingle reflects, "This exhibition is about more than stitches—it's about community, storytelling, and the radical act of claiming your own narrative. It was really lovely to hear from visitors about how much they loved the show—especially comments like how they could truly feel the emotion behind the work in a way they don’t normally experience with other art forms. There was even a boost in interest in participating in our Stitch Social group."

Stitch Social meets twice a month, building friendships, sharing skills and materials, and creating space for intentional, meaningful making. Their spirit is woven into every inch of this show.

✨ Don’t miss your chance to experience Threaded Together before it closes tomorrow, November 22. Come witness the beauty, resilience, and community found in fiber art.

Participating artists include: @tingle, Antoinette Purinton, @clay.paper.scissors, Deborah Diemer, Grace Johnston-Fennell, Jackie Dunham, Juniper Ziegner, Kelly Schroeder, Laura B Goodwin, @cahalane3, @lcopecohn, Lissa Widoff, @g.loulou, @marthakempe55, @mayastein, @pettinaharden, @seven_tree_farm_roberta , @sally9945, @valerieschurerchristle, and @zb_zoom
