You can be happy for an afternoon and not be well. You can be having a terrible week and still be flourishing. Eudaimonia. Yoo-dye-MOH-nee-uh. A Greek word usually translated as “happiness” — which is wrong. Or at least too small. Aristotle meant flourishing. Not how you feel today. How your life is going over the long run, when you’re doing the things you’re actually built to do. We’re not in the business of cheering you up. We’re in the business of helping people build a life that holds. What’s your mental health? . . .

🚨 MEET THE CONTENDERS: THE ELITE EIGHT 🚨 As we kick off the 8th Annual HBCU Mister & Miss People’s Choice Competition™, it’s time to look beyond the titles and meet the brilliant minds vying for the national crown and scholarship packages. Introducing Ta’Quan Ford, representing the prestigious University of the District of Columbia! ❤️💛 ✨ THE CANDIDATE PROFILE: Hometown: Washington, D.C. HBCU Institution: University of the District of Columbia (@universityofdc) IN HIS OWN WORDS: We asked Ta’Quan what it truly means to be the “Golden Standard” of leadership in the HBCU community today. Here is his vision: “Being the “Golden Standard” means leading with visible excellence, deep empathy, and an unshakeable commitment to uplifting others. In the HBCU community, it’s not about holding a title; it’s about using your platform to bridge the gap between administration and the student body, preserving our rich cultural legacy while actively creating a blueprint for the next generation of student leaders to follow.” 📥 THE PORTAL IS OPEN: Ta’Quan is ready to lead, but he needs his Firebird family and the global HBCU community to lock in his spot. Every vote directly powers his journey and funds our national scholarship awards. 🔗 CLICK THE LINK IN OUR BIO TO CAST YOUR SCHOLARSHIP VOTES FOR TA’QUAN TODAY! #HBCUMisterAndMiss #TheEliteEight #UDC #Firebirds #HBCUExcellence

Recognizing Quiet Burnout: When Exhaustion Wears a Smile We talk about what burnout really looks like—not always dramatic falling apart, but showing up, smiling, and quietly feeling empty inside. We explore how burnout can manifest as persistent tiredness even after rest, loss of joy in things you once loved, and saying I’m fine when you’re actually exhausted. We discuss how caring too much for too long without adequate support leads to this state, and we encourage you to reflect on what’s been heavy, what you’ve been pretending is okay, and where you’ve been pushing through when you needed care. We remind you that you’re not lazy, weak, or behind—you’re human, not a machine—and that you’re allowed to pause, ask for help, and rest before your body forces you to. #BurnoutAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #QuietBurnout #SelfCare #MentalWellness ExhaustionIsReal YouMatterToo RestIsProductive MentalHealthSupport BurnoutRecovery SelfCompassion WellnessJourney MentalHealthAdvocacy ListenToYourBody ItsOkayToNotBeOkay
