“Let Go” was my first meaningful use of AI to create visual effects that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to accomplish. Our visual design was surreal enough that supplementing the footage with AI became additive, even when it is obviously AI. The visual effects in this were a combination of generations from Runway and Higgsfield. Inspo was Gene Kelly’s “Singin In the Rain” (1952) & Frida Kahlo’s “Las dos Fridas” which she painted while going through a bad breakup.  full film link in bio. “Let Go” is on so many levels a love letter to our weird little beach town. From the creatives to the locations to the story. It’s about the duality of being surrounded by beauty and sunshine on the outside while feeling heartbroken on the inside. @foreverfoundforever / @__senzo__ @lolastonemusic composed the titular single that sounds like liquid sunshine and they shaped it as we developed the emotional story. @livyyng built the choreography verse by verse and patiently ran it with me all around our Leucadia locations for weeks before pulling in her very talented dancers. We shot the film completely locally and all our favorite spots generously shared their space with us: @justpeachymarket @lapalomatheatre @coffeecoffeeleucadia @nectarinegrove , Beacons. @gen1.dj even rallied the whole @rundancefree crew to show up for a Saturday morning shoot. My extraordinarily talented LA production friends - Producer @bloody_lip_productions , Cinematographer @wuhawk , Art Director @mollyroseapple and Steadicam human @jarkruger came down and elevated this project to a level far beyond its means, as they always do. I feel so lucky. Even @antjuantobiasisfunny drove down and back in one day for a cameo. full film link in bio.
