Dear Montreal, the movie "Hero"; a film by Frances-Anne Solomon will be screening for first time on Thursday, February 27th at Cinema du Parc; 3575 Avenue du Parc.
It is a must watch film for the entire famiIy. Purchase your ticket today via: https://bit.ly/35IE6bj "HERO" is the story of Ulric Cross, who in 1941, left his small island home in Trinidad to seek his fortune, and became the RAF’s most decorated West Indian Airman of WWII. His life took a dramatically different course when he followed the call of history and joined the Pan African and Independence Movements sweeping the world in the ‘50s and ‘60s.

The film is not just about his life but about the dynamic and transformative times in which he lived. It is the hitherto untold story of those Caribbean professionals who helped to liberate Africa from colonialism. "I have films about CLR James, about Padmore, Web Dubois, Nkrumah, all of them. But a film that pulls them all together and that tells the whole story of how they came together -- is a very specific story. It's a very important story and there are not many films that do that." June Givanni
June Givanni is an international curator and leading specialist of Pan African Cinema, as well as the founder and Director of the Pan African Cinema Archive.
