We knew this was coming from the first moment our first deer tested positive for CWD. There is so much speculation, so much negative light without facts, so many hasty decisions always made, and laws that aren't always sensible or the most practical. I'm not saying CWD isn't real or that it can't be serious, but there is science based research on both sides of the fence. EHD is critical and we see it time and time again. Curious what everyone's thoughts are on the topic. Delaware is new to this and we jumped right into new laws.

FOOD PLOTS WORK! A few things we have learned along the way for maximizing plot potential.
1. Do a soil test!! Hard to stress the importance of knowing the pH ratio to N,P,K! Very inexpensive and will save money in the long term!
2. Kill existing weeds and grasses completely before planting.
3. We plant both “feeding plots” and “hunting plots”
4. Wildlife prefers variety! We have blends that provide for changing nutritional needs throughout the year.
5. Rotate the crops as farmers do.
6. Don’t cover small seeds too deeply. 1/4” for most seed is recommended. We have planting depth instructions on all our blend labels.
7. Clear overhead for woods plots to allow sunlight in as much as possible.
8. Importantly… Buy Quality Seed!! Ensure you get the best results from the time and energy spent!
See all our blends on our website and order on line or pick up at 220 Surplus on Dunnings Highway in Newery PA. We’re always available to answer any questions and talk food plots!!

It’s all about the food!! Deer prefer our property over the surrounding land. The main draw on our property are the food plots. Both annuals and perennials, both have different beneficial properties at different times of year for specific nutritional needs. Some good potential to keep our eyes on. Looking forward to working together to improve your wildlife habitat.See all our blends, annuals, perennials and combination blends! Screening and habitat blends all on our website. Available for on line order and delivery or pick up at 220 Surplus on Dunnings Highway in Newery PA. FOOD PLOTS WORK!
