As I lay in bed, overwhelmed with emotion and unable to even get up without help, I realized something bigger than myself had happened. Together, we raised nearly $12,000 enough to clear almost $600,000 worth of medical debt for our Veterans.

That realization hit me hard.

It was an honor and a privilege to be part of something that will truly change lives. None of this happens without all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Months of training went by without injury and then event day came.

Five hours in, I broke my toe. We taped it up quickly, and I got right back to work. From that moment on, I knew every step was going to hurt.

The most emotional moment of the entire event came when I looked over and saw my niece’s and nephew cheering me on. I wanted to make them proud but I just didn’t know if my toe was going to make it that long.

Nine hours in, I felt something was wrong with my lungs. I couldn’t take deep breaths through my mouth. Later, I found out it was an intercostal muscle sprain. Still, I kept going.

At the 10 hour mark, Something happened to my tricep, making it nearly impossible to push myself off the ground. But hearing my friends and family cheering so loudly gave me the strength to keep going.

After the 11 hour mark, My body started shaking uncontrollably. Most likely, I was going into exercise induced hyperthermia. My friends and family wrapped me in blankets and helped me get as close to normal as possible.

I pushed through the night and completed hundreds more burpees.

At the 20 hour mark, I had basically lost the use of my entire left side. I made one of the hardest decisions of my life.

I called it quits.

Giving up in that moment broke me.

Most importantly, I want to thank my pit crew. They were the backbone of this entire challenge. Thank you for sacrificing your time, energy, and sleep to keep me going. I want to thank all of you as well. My heart is incredibly full.

People I haven’t seen in years showed up to watch me suffer… I mean support me 🤣 and that meant more to me than you know.

So now the question becomes…

Do we raise even more money and run it back next year? 👀
