I am forever sorry for how badly you were failed by this world. How dare it let justice slip away from you. I hope that wherever you are right now, it is far away from here and more beautiful and peaceful than this world will ever be. You were too good, too innocent for a world so full of evil.
Sweet dreams baby, I hope you are at peace.

My last edit for today, as the day is slowly coming to an end. You’ve been heavily on my mind today. I hope wherever you may be, that you felt all of the love you’ve received today. My heart will always break for you, knowing you never deserved to see your eighteen and nineteen birthdays. I also hope you had one of the best birthdays in the sky while looking down on your loved ones. I will forever miss you, sweet Charlize Maree Zmuda 🩵.

The ocean was Charlize’s happy place. She loved the ocean, the sand, and even the animals in the ocean, especially turtles and dolphins. Even though she took her final breaths there, I just know her presence will always be there for her loved ones to go to when they think of her. I hope heaven has all of the best waves up there just for you, sweetheart 🩵.

“My angel” One year and eight months ago I came across your story, and I made a promise to myself to share your name and story with others until I can’t. Your name will forever have a special place in my heart, Charlize 🩵.

I will forever see you in everything you loved. Every sunset, I see you, every ocean video I think of you. Anything the color teal, I see you. I will carry your name with me everywhere I go, sweet Cha 🩵.

Happy heavenly birthday, sweet Charlize Maree Zmuda. Every day my heart breaks for you, but today it’s breaking a little more knowing it’s your second birthday you’ve missed, and you’ll miss so many more.

I wish we could have seen what life would have looked like for you if you had become the patrol captain at the beach. I wonder if your favorite things would have been different or if they’d be the same. I also wonder if you would have gone to school, and if so, what you would be taking, and if you didn’t go to school, if you were traveling the world, as that’s one of the things you wanted to do most. She was known for her cheeky smile and infectious laugh that would light up a dark room. She cared so deeply for the people around her, even if she didn’t know them, because that’s the type of person she was, she didn’t have to know you just to care.

Seventeen years was nowhere near enough time for you. I forever wish you had gotten more time to make endless memories with your favorite people, start a family and begin a new chapter in your life. But it won’t happen anymore, it was ripped away from you. I hope you know how loved and missed you truly are, and that the legacy you left behind will never be forgotten, I promise 🩵.

Charlize had so many loves in this world, one of them being the ocean. She loved it from a young age the ocean was her happy place, and she would go there all the time with her family or friends.

From surfing to watching the sunrises and sunsets, she was also a devoted lifesaver. She started as a Bribie Island Surf Life Saving Club nipper at the age of eight, became vice-captain of her patrol, and competed with the IRB team in the Lifesaving World Championships.

She loved all of the animals in the ocean, her favorites being a turtle and a dolphin. After her passing, her parents didn’t want people to be afraid of the ocean, as that’s what Charlize would’ve wanted people not to be scared of the ocean 🩵.
