CHECKED COFFEE SHOPS IN LONDON BY NENÉ
As a student, you eventually get bored of studying at the library. So you start café-hopping ☕📚 I was no exception. These were my study spots in London👇

@leyascoffee now @saintespresso Camden: They serve Salvadoran coffee from Apaneca 🇸🇻. Their flat white is delicious and the matcha is also very good 🍵
@bloomsburycoffee : Probably my favorite in Russell Square 🤎 Located downstairs in a basement, it’s perfect to disconnect from the busy London streets and focus.
@halfcup_ : Delicious pancakes 🥞 and great food. I recommend any of their lattes. Perfect brunch-and-study combo.
@forkdeli : Simple, calm, and ideal for studying. Good coffee.
@waterstonesgowerstreet (Dillon’s Coffee) : Inside Waterstones 📖 Open late and offers a student discount. A dream study spot surrounded by books.
@yumchaatea : Several locations across London. They close relatively late and their matcha is worth it 🍵
@thehoxtonhotel (The Hoxton, Holborn) : Hotel lobby vibes 🛋️ Comfortable sofas, always busy. Their matcha is good.
@ntespressobar (National Theatre Espresso Bar) : Study with a Thames view 🌊 on the South Bank.
BFI Reuben Library Café @benugouk : Chill library atmosphere next to the National Theatre. Quiet, cultural, underrated.
@draughtslondon : Board game café 🎲 You pay around £5 and can stay with access to every board game imaginable. Fun study break option.

London, my student café era was a few years ago, I need to come back to discover new coffee shops ☕️
PS. Photos are not mine! I took them from their insta’s account! Thank you 🇬🇧

I managed to forget my own birthday.

On November 12 2019, Mortality Tables was born, in the Fork deli on Marchmont Street.

I was having breakfast with a friend, and on that day, he’d brought me some records and asked if I had a tote bag to carry them in. I produced the only bag I had with me, which was from the Institute & Faculty Of Actuaries. He asked what it was, I explained, and then said, “It’s all mortality tables and shit like that.” It stuck.

(That friend is the Creative Consultant for all Mortality Tables Products. Nothing gets put into production without his approval.)

We created our first Mortality Tables Product that day. We called it FORKTALK. It is a conversation between two friends. Sometimes we might document it. Mostly we don’t. Sometimes we meet at Fork. Mostly we don’t. We always, always, always drink espresso.

I’ll probably make some postcards of this handwritten note, at some point. In the meantime, the original will be available to purchase from the merch area of the Mortality Tables Bandcamp sometime this evening. Limited edition. One only.
