POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@tribute.cafe & @formativecoffee memories from a visit. Every person that visit us leaves a mark. From these two brands we took two lessons:

Life is Magic, magic like the one Nick showed us, and the second one is attention to details, like Tribute, where roasting and choosing coffees precisely is taken to another level.

FIENDISHLY FUNKY COLOMBIANS 😈
A SINISTERLY SWEET MEXICAN 💀
A WICKED WASHED PERU 🧙‍♀️

October guests have been on the shelf and bar for a couple weeks and you lot have been all over them like a buncha ghoulies

From London’s @formativecoffee we’ve had 2 high-intervention Colombians from farms you’ll all be very familiar with by now, El Jaragual and Quebraditas. Mango Melt is a super sweet thermal shock washed, with notes of mango, toffee and tropical fruits, which has been mega popular in flat whites. Edison Argote’s Root Beer is another thermal shock fermentation with a high complexity, tasting of white raspberry, lemongrass and cane sugar. Rounding out the lineup from Formative is Blueberry Cream, a juicy anaerobic natural from Yirgacheffe with a big hit of blueberries, pineapple, and a floral lavender finish

From Edinburgh’s @cultcoffeeroasters we’ve have 3 absolute bangers. Mutambu Hill is a washed Burundi that turns into a fruit cake in a flat white (trust me, try it). It’s also a super sweet espresso, a syrupy mouthfeel with notes of raisins and molasses. La Cima is a delicate washed Peru, with a tea-like body and sweet florals, such as honey blossom and rosewater. Perfect afternoon brew. And lastly we have Julio Bastidas, a natural Colombian that’s plum and chocolate for days, also makes a wicked flat white!

From house besties @elsewhere_coffee it’s Whirlpool, a natural Mexican with sweet caramel and nectarine notes. It’s everything you want a natural to be. Lots of fruit, lots of sweetness, and a syrupy mouthfeel

As always, 6 coffees to try on espresso, 5 coffees to try on pourover. 12 days left then they’re gone!

London is so casually gorgeous. In my opinion it’s one of the highest ROI cities in the world. You kind of feel your brain’s paradigm of architecture and scale shifting in real time as you walk around. The batch filter coffee is crazy, and so is the food, and it runs (as a tourist) like a clean, beautiful well oiled machine.

I kept on thinking, where’s all the trash? Do you think manhattan knows this is possible? The whole thing felt like an exercise in aesthetic hedonism.

And then I came back and got sick for 3 weeks so never meet your heroes

I cannot overstate how exceptional this filter coffee was. What a complete expression of intent. Probably the best of the whole bunch.
