✨ To know me as an athlete is not the same as knowing me as a coach. But what you will know, is that my heart is 100% in for both roles.

✨ How many coaches can say they guided their 69 year old mom through her first meet prep? I stood next to her on the platform fully dedicated to making her feel safe & prepared both mentally & physically. That’s my job. This will be one of the most memorable experiences as a coach I will ever have.

✨ There is a different level of deep connection & trust you build with a client when they decide to compete. The meet prep, peaking & game day on the platform. Your relationship is forever changed. It’s fricken’ beautiful!

✨ I plan to spend many more hours of my life prepping for meets. Not just as an athlete, but as a coach who sees the potential in someone. I will make you see it too.

👉🏼 This is Adelle. Adelle came to me 6 months ago in May. They wanted to get back into powerlifting & to compete again. They participated in 2 powerlifting meets pre-Covid days. They were ready to get back under the bar.

👉🏼 Adelle’s calm energy, kind heart & warm smile brings such a positive vibe to the room. Their work ethic & consistency is unshakable. I have yet to find their edge as they keep bringing their A game week after week. Adelle is hitting numbers in this meet prep that they have never seen before. Numbers they didn’t think would be possible in 6 months time.

👉🏼 We are still getting to know each other. Building trust, listening to each other & opening up a little more each session. Adelle is here now b/c they trust the processes. They know it works & they stay consistent even when it’s hard.

👉🏼 I’ve been watching Adelle’s confidence soar week after week as they discover just how truly strong & capable they are. It’s an absolute honor to be your coach, to build this relationship with you & support your strength journey.

👉🏼 @adellisandwich thank you for trusting me with your body! I can’t wait to see where we are in a year from now! The platform is lucky to have you on it.

🔥 Imagine spending more time enjoying your body then criticizing it, shaming it or not even using it at all.
I bet you’d find a lot more joy in your days & your life! 😉

💪🏽 I hit the jackpot in 2017 when I made the move to Me Fitness Studios. This is where I met Rachel & in 2018 I convinced my long time friend Anne to come join the party.
💪🏽 Between the three of us, you’re looking at over 35 plus years of experience. Which is crazy in an industry where most trainers average 6 months to a year before they throw in the towel.
💪🏽 Your work environment has such a powerful impact on your life. In this industry, you got to grab on to any opportunity to learn, grow & stay engaged. You have to let your ego go, be humble & remember the best educators are those who are also students.
💪🏽 I’m grateful for the quality of talent around me professionally & personally everyday.
And more importantly, the life long friendship I will have with these two talented, strong & gorgeous boss babes. I learn from you both everyday. It’s an absolute joy to have you both in my life. May we lift heavy things & each other up for many years to come.

💪🏽 Your mind can either be your greatest ally or your worst enemy. Every time you step up to that bar you get to choose what it’s going to be.

💪🏽 HOT TIPS TO TAKE TO THE BAR

👉🏼 Pick two cues to focus on that you want to improve. If you’re new to lifting & try to remember everything, you will be overwhelmed.

👉🏼 Let go of perfection & aim for growth & improvement. The processes is far more important then perfection. So let your ego go & recognize the work you are doing.

💪🏽 Approach the bar as if YOU are in charge!! Come at it with confidence & grit. Select a mantra & repeat that maranta in your head. Own your confidence & don’t let anyone take it away.

💪🏽 When you see someone have success at the bar, celebrate for them. Share in their joy. There is an abundance of gains to go around, so be happy for those around you.

💪🏽The power of a positive mindset is unstoppable! Now get out there & pick up that bar.

<8 weeks out.
Promise you slide 3 & 4 are the only fun ones

Todays main lift followed by a bunch of accessories:
Cambered bar beltless front squats 4x4x115.

This is just a reminder that when your coach programs fun stuff, they also program gross stuff because you can never ONLY have fun. That would be *crazy.*

Second slide to prove I did them the “correct” way but ow wrists and more gross.

Third slide of @formnfunctionpdx making these way more fun 🤩 #goblingainz

And a dedicated slide to bb’s first mirror selfie because I thought it needed to be documented.

Onto more exciting things now. Enjoy 😎

“The only thing thicker than blood are the bonds we choose.”

We talk about the benefits of strength on an individual level.
Powerlifting forces us to forge our best selves, compete with who we were a month, a year, 5 years ago.

But what’s equally important is the team aspect of it.

Strength connects us with people we otherwise would’ve never met.
When others don’t understand the intricacies of the sport, the emotional pitfalls, how much the victories truly mean, what the barbell represents-we find comfort in those who do.

You can achieve a lot on your own.
But those results are multiplied in numbers when you have a team of people behind you.

And not just individuals who say “you’re doing great,” generic words lacking in action.

People who incline you to look inward, back at that reflection in the mirror, question where you’re going & why.

People who call you on your bullshit when your actions don’t follow your words, encourage you to step into uncharted territory, embrace discomfort, refuse to give up.

People who give you a space to express yourself, own who you are, free from the bondage of clouded judgement.

Who will push you to work harder than before, provide friendly competition, rekindle the fire inside of you, uncover your true potential.

Who provide emotional support, whom you can seek comfort in at your lowest, forcefully pick you back up during your pitfalls, lead you down a path that continues forward.

Who want you to succeed, will fight to the end for you, won’t give up on you.

Who will be there in the successes, hype you up as if it was their own win, because they’ve witnessed the journey leading up to it & understand all it entails.

Why step into the unknown, untraveled path alone, when you could do it with a team of like-minded people?

In this journey, you’ll find your tribe.

That’s what Ironside is all about. Bridging the gap between gym and family. Between support, hype, love; & accountability, discomfort, success.

These are some of my favorite moments from this weekend. I love this team & am forever honored to be part of it.

Stronger together.
Better in numbers.
We’re building an army.
Facta non verba.
