OVKA Race 11
First race back for @colin_evans51 and @justin.evans.7545708 since early in the season. Thanks to @jesse._.carey for racing with us over the past few races and @davenplh and @sk.eye.ler11 for running under the tent. It was a decent day for both drivers, even with Colin forgetting his transponder for the pre-final and having to start last in the final. Justin had a great run and showed speed all day for his last OVKA race in masters.

Qualifying:
Justin: P16
Colin: P9

Pre-final:
Justin: P15
Colin: P9

Final:
Justin: P13

For the last 2 1/2 years Macallan has borrowed others’ karting suits. Now, thanks to @captain.h.awesomeness and @formula.win.racing, she has a custom suit for her very own. After Mac tried it on, she didn’t want to take it off, and she can’t wait to debut it Saturday night at @kuhnle_motorsports_park. For anyone who wants an amazing suit for a great price, we can’t recommend Formula Win Racing enough. Thank you to @marsh.doug for the referral and to our partners for making this possible (more on them in our next post).

First national race of the year @apexkartingchampionships at @gandjkartway

Crazy weekend. Had a slow start with wrong setup but Saturday completely reset what we had. Ran decent all day Saturday but Sunday was a different story. Showed speed from morning warmup and continued to make moves all day. Dodged some wrecks in the prefinal for me to start really well for the final. Got ran off twice in the first few laps, both in turn 2, and after that I put my head down and went for it. Passed around 8 people throughout the middle portion of the race and was in the lead of the 3rd pack on track by the 2nd to last lap running what would have been 13th. Then went for some defensive driving and in the 2nd to last turn, coming to the checkered flag, ran a wide line to try to get the inside for the last turn and hold my position to the line but the driver behind me took advantage of this move and ran me off, which ended up being the 3rd time in the final. Even with getting wrecked a bunch I had a great time and I’m so glad Apex is coming back to G&J next year!

Welcome to the team @andrewpattersonracing who won in his first start with the team! Both drivers capitalized in the rain even with a thrown chain for @colin_evans51 in the prefinal. Hard to have a better race day than this for a little team like ours. Another night race this Saturday with more announcements to come.

Great day at @gandjkartway. Colin had a crazy final after showing speed all day. Came up one spot short after a few aggressive laps from the top 3 to finish the race. Good hard racing at the front. Congrats to @kartracer443 on the win. For Justin in the masters class, he ran consistent lap times and continues to get faster as the season goes on.

Late post but race 2 went much better than race 1. Colin brought the same speed back from race 1 which this time led to a good result. Justin continues to show speed and ran a steady race as he continues to close the gap on his competitors.

OVKA Race 1:
@colin_evans51 showed up with great speed for the first race of the season. Got used as the whole fields brakes going into turn 3 on lap one to end the chances of a good run. We will keep bringing speed like that for the rest of the season.
Happy hour: P1
Qualifying: P2
Pre Final: P4
Final: P28

@justin.evans.7545708 continues to get comfortable in the masters/heavy kart and ran some personal best times all day, continuing to make up ground until getting caught up in a lap one wreck as well.
Happy hour: P13
Qualifying: P14
Pre final: P13
Final: P13

Bad finishes but great speed to start the season.

2025: What a year
16 races for 3 different series
First 3 national races including the biggest 4-cycle race in the world at CKNA Grand-Nats. Also in the most competitive class, Senior medium, coming up 2 spots short of the feature in only my second time at New Castle Motorsports Park.
At the OVKA finished 4th in points and a 6th place average finish in an over 30 kart sized 206 Senior field.
Coming back next year running for the OVKA 206 Senior points championship and APEX championship as well as select CKNA races. 2025 was a great year so bring on 2026.

Great end to the @ovkakarting season. Had speed from the first practice session and qualified 3rd. Made up a spot in the heat and stayed there in the final to finish P2 on the day after a close race with @kartracer443 and @randi_harvey. Great points finish as well as this huge points haul brought me up to finishing 4th in an extremely competitive 206 senior class. Definitely my best club season to date with how competitive this class was. Now onto grands after an off weekend of preparation. Let’s carry this momentum forwards.

Qually: P3
Heat: P2
Final: P2 + fastest lap
