SVRA/Racing America Laguna Seca 2026
.
NGL - it was hot!

Good to catch up with friends I hadn’t seen in a bit and spent time on an upcoming video documentary (more on that soon!). Thus, ergo, consequently…. I thought I didn’t get around as much as I hoped, but these pics tell a different story - so, I’ll let them do the talking.

There’s this idea that at some point we’re supposed to slow down. Settle in. Start acting our age.

We’re not buying it.

Ride COTA. Race the car. Go fishing. Fly across the country. Take the trip. Stay somewhere new. Have the espresso martini. Bring the dog. Wake up somewhere that makes you excited about the day ahead.

Life isn’t over because you hit a certain number. There is still so much to see, do, build and experience.

That’s a big part of what Taylor Stays is about. Whether your next adventure puts you trackside at Track House or tucked away in Broken Bow at Sublime, get out and live a life you actually enjoy.

You’re not running out of time. You’re finally learning how you want to spend it.

You can’t beat a race weekend at @barbermotorpark…😁 Thankful to share it with great people.

I was able to drive the all-new Formula Mazda FMzR and it was an amazing experience. Moses Smith and Formula Mazda have put so much detail into designing and building this car. Wickedly balanced and fast. Two pole positions and two wins to show for the weekend. Thank you to the @formulamazda team and drivers for making this an unforgettable weekend! 🤘

That’s a wrap on the Hoosier Super Tour at Barber Motorsports Park.

Getting to race the @formulamazda FMzR made my first weekend at Barber incredible!

P2 in Saturday Qualifying was an amazing result for my first time on track. Following that up with a P2 finish in race 1 was an encouraging way to finish off the day.

P3 in Sunday qualifying was a great result for my second day. However, the race was a different story. I want to thank the entire Formula Mazda team for the mid race pitstop support! With their help, I was able to finish P5 after one of my rear tires went flat. They turned a sub-optimal issue into an amazing recovery drive.

Overall it was an unforgettable weekend, and I’m excited for more.

4-year-old Nate was shooting photos with his toy camera at @icscc_racing & @irdc_racing 'Tribute to the Volunteers' race weekend at @theridgemotorsportspark . Impressive shots for such a young guy🙂 He certainly has a future in motorsports photography!

Thanks to Nate and his Dad, @billinaracecar for providing the images 🏁🏁🏁

🚨 I’ll be back in an open-wheel car with @formulamazda this weekend at @barbermotorpark for the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour! This amazing FMzR is the next generation of Formula Mazda hand made by Moses Smith, Formula Mazda, and the Texas Autosports team out of Cresson, Texas. This class is growing quickly in popularity, which is nice to see for a Mazda powered car in open-wheel racing.

After I underwent two heart procedures for two heart abnormalities, my family and I really struggled with making the step from karts to cars in the pursuit of pro racing. In 2017, a few years after my procedures, Moses and Sitara put me in a Formula Mazda, which was also my introduction to the unparalleled motorsports support provided by @mazdamotorsports. Members of Mazda Motorsports at the time including John Doonan, David Cook, Mo Murray, Andrew Carbonell all supported my growth during this time of perseverance. My SCCA National Championship success in the Formula Mazda in 2018 provided the spark my racing career needed to make it to pro racing. An @mazdamx5cup Shootout Scholarship (2021) later, I was racing within IMSA. September is World Heart Month, so it is fitting to bring in September racing the next generation of the same car that supported my growth during difficult times.

More to come through the weekend! I excited to put together some fun content. If you are around Barber, give me a shout and/or stop by to say hey! 🤘
