Growth happens when you feel safe enough to try. 🌲🥊

There’s something so special about learning new skills surrounded by nature no pressure, no judgment, just encouragement and open air.

Seeing one of our local moms step up to the pads while her son watched on in Forest School is what our community is all about. We aren’t just teaching movement; we’re showing our kids what courage and growth look like in real-time.

We create the space. You bring the heart. 🌿#bootcamp #outdoorfitness #wellbeing #londonfitness #sportengland

Who knew a pile of sticks, an old oat milk carton, and a bit of tape could turn into full-blown arcade-level excitement? 🪵📦✨

At Forest School this week, we decided to make our very own DIY Kerplunk! Using a few simple bushcraft tools, the kids got completely absorbed in the build threading sticks through carton walls, balancing stones on top, and testing out their creation with endless anticipation.

There is something so magical about watching children realization that they don’t need plastic toys to have a total blast. Just pure creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and good old-fashioned outdoor play. 🌿🔥

Have you ever tried making outdoor versions of classic tabletop games? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Why do we do what we do? Simple: to give parents their time back while everyone grows. While the kids explore, build, and pick up outdoor skills with our forest school crew, parents get the space to move, sweat, learn new training skills, and reconnect in nature. It’s more than just wellbeing it’s a way of being. 🌲💪

Sound ON 🔊 Is it really an outdoor team session if someone doesn’t bring out a kazoo? 🎶

Movement, fresh air, and absolute chaos—just how we like it. 🌿✨

Nature doesn’t ask you to rush. Taking just a few seconds to look up at the canopy, notice small details, and slow your breath can shift your nervous system and instantly bring you back to centre. You don’t need hours in the woods to feel grounded just a moment of real presence. Save this for the next time you need a quick mental reset. 🌲✨

Confidence isn’t built in isolation it’s grown in the space between reaching out and being met with support. 🌲✨

In our fast-paced world, sitting down on the forest floor with natural pigments and simple crafts does something remarkable. It strips away the pressure of perfection and creates a sanctuary of guided autonomy.

When a child reaches for a hand, they aren’t just asking for help with a craft they are learning that it is safe to try, safe to fail, and safe to lean on community.

Holding space costs nothing, but for a developing mind, it changes everything. 💚

How are you holding space for someone today?

Building dens isn’t just piling up sticks it’s full-body learning disguised as pure outdoor freedom. 🌲🪵 ✨

Here’s what’s actually happening when kids build in the woods:

💪 Physical Strength & Balance
Lifting branches, hauling logs, and navigating uneven ground builds core strength, coordination, and spatial awareness.

🧠 Hands-On Physics & Logic
They’re engineering on the fly testing tripod stability, balance points, and load-bearing without opening a textbook.

🤝 Teamwork & Problem-Solving
Kids negotiate roles, share heavy loads, and rebuild together when structures collapse, building true resilience.

🌿 Nervous System Reset
Unstructured nature play lowers stress, sharpens focus, and gives kids a rare, empowering sense of ownership over their space.

What was your go-to den design growing up A-frame or teepee? 👇

If you go down to the woods today... you’ll find children doing what they were born to do: being free. 🌲✨

In a world increasingly dominated by screens, indoor classrooms, and rigid schedules, our Forest School offers a return to what’s natural. It’s a space where kids can climb low branches, whittle sticks, craft with natural materials, make noise, and let their curiosity run wild.
When children spend unhurried time outdoors, it isn’t just play it’s fundamental development.

Why Forest School creates grounded, resilient kids:

* 🧠 Sensory & Creative Growth: Crafting with mud, clay, sticks, and leaves awakens natural problem-solving and boundless imagination.
* 🌲 Grounded Confidence: Navigating natural terrain and climbing rope swings builds core balance, physical resilience, and self-trust.
* 🤝 Shared Community: Learning to collaborate, explore, and create in nature fosters deep, lasting bonds among kids.

Nature is the ultimate classroom no walls, no judgment, just endless space to grow.

More than wellbeing, a way of being. 🌿

When was the last time your little ones spent a whole afternoon just getting lost in play?

Dexterity in motion and mentorship in the making. 🏹🌿

Watching an older child step up to gently guide a younger one with their handmade bow and arrow is the true heart of Forest School.

Moments like this do so much more than just build fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Working with natural materials notching string onto real wood, gripping small sticks, and steadying hands requires a level of fine dexterity that screens just can’t teach. But even more than that, it fosters empathy, patience, and natural leadership across different age groups.

When children learn together in nature, the forest becomes the ultimate classroom for both physical capability and social connection.

More than wellbeing, a way of being. 🌲

Want your little ones to experience the magic of child-led, nature-based play? Join us every Thursday for our FREE Forest School session at Oxleas Woods. Come step into the woods and let them explore!

They say it takes a village to raise a kid, but we like to think it takes a beautiful, wide-open meadow, too! 🌾✨

Learning to navigate the world outside their immediate parents is such an incredible, foundational skill for a child. When kids are part of a trusted community "village," they absolutely thrive. It builds their confidence, expands their social comfort zone, and teaches them that the world is a supportive place full of people looking out for them. Having that freedom to explore within safe boundaries allows them to test their own limits, solve problems, and grow into resilient, independent little humans.

Our forest school is set up in the perfect proximity to where the mamas and papas are doing their thing. While the adults get a much-needed mental reset, the little ones are safely roaming the meadow, testing out their independence, and learning how to recognise and trust other amazing adults in our community village.

The kids get a massive adventure, the parents get some breathing room. 🥊🤸‍♂️👦
